Worldview Matters with Brannon Howse

Brannon's guest is Chris Puplava of financialsense.com and their topics include: 1). CNBC financial wizards tell us on August 5th that the commodities bull market is over and it is time to sell, sell, sell. Really? When did the government fix inflation, the banking crisis and our 53 trillion dollar debt? When did the government stop printing money like nuts to pay our nation's bill? 2). The feds have not been honest. Chris explains the hard data that reveals America has been in a recession since the last quarter of 2007. 3). The feds like to go back a quarter and re-do the numbers. In other words, when the news is bad, they cover it up and then when the quarter passes they print the real figures. 4). What will it take for Americans to realize the government is not the solution but the problem? 5). What can those with money do to get ready for hard times? 6). Why oil is going to go back up. 7). What can people do that are living pay check to pay check to get ready?

Emerging With Rome’s Different Gospel

By Ken Silva

Apprising Ministries

But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned!  [1]

Let me make this as clear as I possibly can for the Roman Catholics who may read this work in Christ. I personally am a former member of the apostate Church of Rome and care very deeply about those, such as the majority of my own family line, who are trapped in this apostate man-made system of religion.

Now there has been some confusion over issues concerning Roman Catholicism, particularly due to the growth of contemplative spirituality in new evangelicalism now rapidly being spread by the Emergent Church . Since the central issue of the Protestant Reformation deals with the very Gospel itself it becomes vitally important to address this topic. In the above Scripture the Apostle Paul has very clearly said that if anyone preaches a Gospel other than that of Christ’s original Apostles, it is God Himself Who says this person–or group is accursed.

Roman Catholicism Teaches Baptismal Regeneration

The Gospel of the Apostles does not include the doctrine that baptism brings about forgiveness of our sins and unites us to Christ. The different “gospel” of the Church of Rome unquestionably does. Consider the following from the Catechism of the Catholic Church [2] section 977: “Baptism is the first and chief sacrament of forgiveness of sins because it unites us with Christ…” No, baptism has nothing whatsoever to do with forgiveness of sins (e.g. Matthew 9:2; Luke 23:42-43; Acts 10:43-45), and no it doesn’t unite us with Christ.

A person becomes baptized because he has already been united to Christ by God’s grace alone; through faith alone; in Christ alone. Ephesians 2:8 is in the past tense, – you have been saved, and yet the different gospel the Church of Rome teaches justification is an ongoing process. And anyone, even an angel from Heaven–most certainly applies to the Pope in Rome pretending to be Vicar of Christ–who preaches a gospel other than the one Paul preached. It is God the Holy Spirit Who tells us he is under the divine curse of God. If one is under the divine curse then he can’t very well be a Christian.

The Catechism also says in section 405: “human nature has not been totally corrupted;…” This is also part of the different gospel of the Roman Catholic Church because Genesis 8:21 distinctly says – every inclination of [man’s] heart is evil from childhood. The Lord Himself confirms this in Matthew 7:11 when He says to His Own disciples – you are evil. The greatest of the Apostles says – nothing good lives in me. [3] And finally Romans 3:10-18 makes it quite clear that no one seeks God. [4]

Mankind Plays No Part In Salvation

In fact we have this confirmed again by the LORD God Himself in Matthew 11:27 when He says – “No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.” Now we may not like the fact no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him but this is exactly what the text says. So you can see this is right in line with what God the Holy Spirit of Truth reveals through Paul – no one seeks God.

There is just no way around the absolute truth of Romans 5 – You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.  Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! For if, when we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! [5]

The Catechism also says in section 405: “Baptism,…erases original sin…” In Section 1215: “[Baptism] actually brings about the birth of water and the Spirit without which no one ‘can enter the kingdom of God.’ ” Section 1265 says: “Baptism not only purifies from all sins, but also…the whole organism of the Christian’s supernatural life has its roots in baptism.” We read in section 1250: “Born with a fallen human nature…children also have need of the new birth in baptism.” And finally, here is section 1992: “Justification is conferred in Baptism, the sacrament of faith.”

The issue is simple: If no one can enter the Kingdom of God without “the new birth in baptism,” then we are now in contradiction with the Gospel contained in Holy Scripture. It needs to be recovered that the Reformers were simply returning our Lord’s Church back to what God has told us about His Gospel in His Word. The absolute Truth is that mankind’s nature is totally depraved, he does nothing to initiate so great [a] salvation, he does nothing to accomplish it, nor does he need to do anything to keep it.

No, the Bible is very clear on this subject, and the truly perplexing question that remains is: How possibly can the allegedly Protestant Reformed evangelical community now consider as Christian an organization which claims infallibility for its corrupt and unregenerate teaching magisterium, proclaiming a gospel of works-oriented baptism for the remission of sins, who is undoubtedly preaches another gospel unto you than that ye have received?

ANyone who would merge with a cult either, 1.) does not the BIBLE--- OR --- 2.) doesnt know the ROMAN CATHOLIC church. NO one who knows the BIBLE would EVER OVER their DEAD BODY JOIN that cult which goes against CHRIST, they would be TRAITORS to the faith. MANY today, WHO do NOT take the time to STUDY the WORD, and study CULTS< RCC, who try try to say to UNITE with that CULT< in my opinion ARE NOT to be TRUSTED, they are willing to JOIN together with a CULT NOT church, that GOD detests. WAKE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You ask, "How possibly can the allegedly Protestant Reformed evangelical community now consider as Christian an organization (meaning the Catholic Church) which claims infallibility for its corrupt and unregenerate teaching magisterium....?" The answer is that those who are of the Protestant Reformed evangelical community who do consider the Catholic Church and it's practices valid, or those who are actually falling away from the faith and who think like a New Ager and will eventually join up with a One World Religion, in some form or fashion under the leadership of the Catholic Church! The church is full of people who are deceived and unfortunately following after a different Gospel, one that appeals more to their senses and self, one that tickles their ears. That is why. They are not concerned with the cause and results of the Reformation. For instance, it is the same as when a divorce takes place and others don't want to hear "why" because they don't want to take sides, never mind that one of the divorcees was abusing a child. People would rather stay ignorant and say the opposite would just be "judging!" After all, won't they accuse us of that? One other thing about Catholicism, which I, too, grew up in, IF A BABY DIES BEFORE ITS PARENTS CAN GET THE PRIEST OUT TO BABTISE IT, that precious child that is, according to the bible, unaccountable for the Adamic sin that it inherited through birth (just as one man sinned all have sinned through the one man Adam), will NEVER, NEVER, NEVER GO TO HEAVEN TO BE WITH GOD! According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, that baby will go to Limbo and live there forever, a place separate from God but not so bad (SUPPOSEDLY) in spite of that fact.!!! (Talk about make believe -Limbo and Purgatory for starters!) Wow, that is a nice theory isn't it? And millions and millions of Catholics believe it. Yet it is not in the Bible. "Suffer not the little children to come to me." Those babies that die without babtism are right in the arms of Jesus. They never willing acted against God and are unaccountable for their inherited sin nature. What glitters on the outside is many times rotten on the inside. Sort of like the Mormon church. You almost have to have been there to know and see "ALL" that goes on! I'd stay as far away as possible from that "Seven Hills" thing talked about in Revelations! Karen

Always interesting hearing from former Catholics. ...I'm not sure if you are familiar with Evangelicals and Catholics Together (ECT). It is a document developed in 1994 where many prominent Evangelicals entered into an agreement with Catholics where they, the Evangelicals, recognized that Catholics were Christian too and that Evangelicals and Catholics were united in purpose. Of course the real reason the Catholics wanted to enter into this agreement was that Evangelicals were winning over many converts from the Catholic Church in South America, putting a big dent in the Catholic Church money supply. The ECT is an agreement that Evangelicals will no longer witness/proselytize to Catholics, since after all they are "Christian" too. Fortunately many Bible believing Evangelicals have seen through this ruse and have completly disassociated themselves from it. But it is an example showing that those whose roots were from the refromation are now willing to imbrace the harlot that they once left.

I do remember that and how many were upset with the idea and there was a lot of conflict over it. I have als0 heard of the recent formation or move on the part of the Catholic Church to gather together Pastors and leaders from numerous other Protestant denominations for the purpose of establishing guidelines for evangelizing. I understand they have invited Muslims and other non-Christian religious groups in on the process. What you describe is probably the forerunner of what I have just described. I do not remember the name of the Gathering, although the Catholic Church is orchestrating it. (I may have read it on this very site.) My reaction to what you say and what I have described is that in all actuality, the devil is the puppeteer behind the Catholic Church's attempts to silence workers in the harvest field from winning the lost to Christ. Why would a Muslim agree to sit in on the process and then agree to be evangelized by a Christian? The whole idea is preposterous and could not have come from the mind of God! The upshot of it all will be a set of rules that bar sincere Christians from speaking to others about their need for salvation. We are being muzzled before our very eyes!!!!Case in point: The recent firing of a Christian Judge who was fired by a non-Christian judge because the latter didn't like the former sharing his Christians views. You would be shocked and amazed at the number of Christians attending good bible teaching churches, who believe baptism saves. Oh, they don't say it, but they believe if you are baptized, you're ok. You can tell by what they say about salvation and baptism. Many, many, also believe in Semi-Palagianism and they don't know it. They think we're not all that bad. That when Adam sinned he just got sick, he didn't die spiritually. Since he's our father, we're just sick as well, and not that bad. We can go to God anytime we want and he will accept us. All we have to do is cooperate with the Holy Spirit. In otherwords, my salvation is up to me. Brenda
