Truly sad
Posted On: 08/19/08 10:12:52 PM Age 49, MT
You are rejoicing in mocking by the ungodly? You think it's a good thing that the one true faith is being denigrated by profane men? And you put this dishonorable refuse on your website? Leaving aside the doctrinal error of these televangelists, I can see no profit in celebrating the commentary of these non-believers. This builds no one's faith, it spurs no one on to good deeds, it elicits no attitude of worship. What part do you have with these comedians, that you would partner with them in tearing down our faith? You ought to be ashamed.

"that you would partner with them in tearing down our faith?" If people mocking church heresies tears down your faith, you've got bigger problems to face.

    1. I have no problems

I did not say that this tore down MY faith, sir. I said OUR faith. I also did not say I had a problem with people mocking church heresy. What I said was that I have a problem with Christians celebrating these ungodly men mocking Christians. And they are professing Christians, though you may disagree with some of their teaching. You cleverly try to shift what I actually said into something I did not say. That is dishonest.

  2. Shame on them

The Christians that buy into these prosperity, sensational, televangelists need to be shamed, even if it comes from outside the Church. I would celebrate anything that would bring a distracted Christian back into the fold. No shame in doing that. George Cancilla

    1. A response to my point would be appropriate
      Posted On: 08/22/08 08:01:58 PMAge 49, MT
Mr. Cancilla, Perhaps you could respond to my point, which is that this website is celebrating the attack of other Christians, solely because of doctrinal differences. Do you think the world makes the distinction between doctrines, or rather, do they consider all Christians to be pretty much alike? It's fine if we have a quarrel with prosperity teachers. It is not fine join with the faithless in mocking ANYONE, let alone other believers. Suppose I happen to disagree with your doctrine. What would be your reaction if someone mocked you, and I disseminated the video to everyone in your town? It is shameful, sir.

      1. If the shoe fits...
        Posted On: 08/24/08 07:45:12 AMAge 61, MO
I don't think this website attacks other Christians, but it attacks heretical doctrines in general. Names are often mentioned in accordance with those heretical doctrines. We should not care what the world thinks. When we have the doctrine of Jesus Christ in us, the world will hate us. Heretical doctrine comes from the world. I would agree that mocking an unbeliever is unacceptable means to the end of getting them to see Christ. But believers who practice heretical doctrine mock the Lord. Sometimes putting a mirror up in front of someone can cause them to see their human errors and the folly of their ways. George Cancilla

        1. Which heretical doctrines?
          Posted On: 08/25/08 09:07:04 AMAge 49, MT
Which heretical doctrines did these ungodly men attack? What Scriptures did they expound upon? What truths did they teach us in order that we may avoid the folly of unsound doctrine? Sir, I do care what the world thinks when people of faith engage in unseemly conduct. I do care what the world thinks when we dishonor the Name of Christ by celebrating profanity, which is what this video is. We ALL practice unsound doctrine. Unless you are claiming that your doctrine is perfect in every way? Lastly, holding up the standard of truth in a dark world is noble and commendable. But this is not that. I don't see how I can be any clearer, unless you believe that it is no-holds-barred, anything goes, no rules apply when it comes to Christians who are in error. If so, may I suggest that you re-examine your doctrine, because someone may come calling with their purer doctrine, claiming you too are apostate.

          1. WHO IS THE SERVANT
            Posted On: 08/27/08 07:12:39 PMAge 64, OH
Is it our doctrine that makes us apostate or is it a matter of the heart. Certainly we are to seek all truth and any lie is a serious matter. But it is the heart that Jesus judges. Is our heart given to The Lord Jesus Christ is the one and only question that really matters. If our heart is given to Jesus then His Holy Spirit will lead us into all truth. I agree with you that the mocking spirit of these videos is not good. Some could think they mock Christ also. But have not these men brought on this mocking by their greed. I do not see them ever confess their sinfulness. I never see them them seek the Lord for His will but they profess to know the will of God. It seems to me they look upon God as their servant instead of being His servant. Grace and peace to you. Lou
