Just when I think that the Purpose Driven mega church program is a significant player in the apostasy, I get encouraged by some posititve statistics. One "minister" out of a 26,000 member Purpose Driven church in Texas was arrested for trying to sexually ravage a child. Those are not bad numbers. In ANY group of 26,000 you would expect to have several demon possessed, perverted pedophiles. Heck, in a number that large, you would even expect to have a few that are in to beastiality or swinging. You can't expect ALL of their ministers to be born again. That's alot of people. There may not even be 26,000 in all of heaven. If the man has a degree in psychology or is experienced as a motivational speaker, is that not enough? Has anyone in the media pointed out that this church has made Celebrate Recovery (Rich Warrens spirit hospital) available to this minister? Celebrate Recovery won't judge this man by using mean words like: "repent!". The authorities framed this man and besides that, 13 year olds are alot more experienced these days. At least he brought along ten condoms. Give the guy credit for being cautious about bringing home an STD to his wife. Okay, the Purpose Driven programs scrutiny of it's "ministers" could use a little tweaking. I guess they shoud actually SEE their diplomas before they turn Kids Church or the clown ministry over to them. You can't be too safe when it comes to kids. I WAS a little offended that his church's computer had a block to keep their leaders from viewing porn on company time. If you can't trust a Purpose Driven trained psychologist, who CAN you trust? Another Cracker Propaganda Hit Piece From CWN

John 1.39, "Come and See"
In just 3 minutes on the radio, your obvious lack of biblical knowledge and your intellectual laziness is demonstrated.
If you took about 45 seconds to 1.25 minutes of your time to read Scripture before you opened your mouth and spoke incorrectly of Jesus and Warren, you would have noticed John 1.39.
Another cracker propaganda piece from CWN with video attached to attempt to boost people's confidence in your opinions.
You have broken His commands and laws and as with one of the last lying smear pieces from CWN on Warren, you owe the man a public apology. Of course, there won't be one forthcoming even when the evidence demonstrates your obvious ignorance and false accusation.
Jesus would be so proud....not

Sir,
I don't know what Bible you are reading but Jesus first words were not "Come and See". If you really want to be technical about it he could have said (based on the book of John) that his first words were "What do you seek?". This is a very foolish statement that Rick Warren has made (among many foolish statements). If you read the context of this statement then you would know that the question Jesus was answering was "where are you staying?". How pathetic that his statement was used to say that this is how Jesus made diciples??????????? Can Rick read???
Rick Warren needs to repent or he will one day find himself in the lake of fire!!!!

This Marketing Genius Followed The $$$$

...all the way to the guilt-ridden church. I'm sure your defense of Rich Warren is appreciated but your hard earned cash will go much further with the holy man. His biography tells of a man that was a marketing genius before he found his "purpo$e" (releiving you of your guilt-offering). The 'accuser of the brethren' leads him right to people that feel the need to make restitution for being, of all things, a Christian. Warren goes to muslim countries, "piles up" with muslim leaders, testifies of what a great religion they have and begs forgiveness from them for how hateful Christians are. Do you RWD's (Rick Warren defenders) cry foul when other TV preachers manipulate suckers out of their money buy selling forgivness, peace, healing, or prosperity? Be honest, the only difference is their denominational backgrounds. Being Southern Baptist makes everything Warren does okay...until he speaks in tounges or knocks somebody down by "laying hands on them". THEN you'll know he's a heretic! The man allows an out-of-the-closet, "same-sex" (they used to be called homosexual) couple to speak from his "podium" (it used to be called a pulpit) in his "campus" (it used to be called church) to prove to the world that he's not one of those "mean old Christians" (you've convinced me, Rick). If you RWD's can show me where this event was based on good, sound Bible doctrine, please don't (show me). I don't think I would ever be able to read my Bible again. If I read where Paul said that homosexuality would be scratched off the sin list in the last days I might be tempted to revert back to some of my old habits that are no longer on the list (smoking, drinking, adultry...). According to Rick, Barak Hussein Obama (partial birth abortion, same sex marriage activist) is "a good man and I support him". I don't even want to know how the RWD's justify that one. One of the feedback posters here equates criticizing RW with blaspheming God. I'd like to have a dollar for every time I've heard "touch not Gods annointed". Rick Warren does NOT operate in an annointing from God. His annointing is from a being that not only allows compromise, but prefers it. Teaching their followers how to use "bait" by being seeker-friendly (sin tollerant) is the most useful tool ANY cult leader uses. Guilt and rebellion against repentance are some other useful means of manipulation. Don't worry, though, Rich won't have you drink the poison Kool-Aid. Dead people just don't buy books and tapes. but in a nutshell, your "you owe the man a public apology" statement. You are a defender of a man that is an important and significant player in the apostasy in this country. I'm convinced that he has compromised so much with the spirit of antichrist that he will eventually be revealed to have an important association with THE antichrist. The American "church" is now a staged production acted out by false converts and Warren is at the top of the heap. Out of curiosity, just how do you expect the devil (a devil and hell that Warren has competely written off) to approach the unprotected, immature "church" in this country? Do you think he's going to scream: Hey, I'm the devil! I'm evil! I'll try to be real obvious so you'll know how to resist me!" Or do you think he's intimidated by this countries "Christian" religion? Do yourself a favor and revisit the techniques and methods that satan used to tempt man and the Son of Man. His offers were his to give and INCREDIBILY tempting, even to the Son of God. Which of the two tempted ones do you think Warren has reacted most like? Your defense of Warren is a generic one. That's what my reaction "has to do with it". The devil will run us ragged, tempt us to defend his agents, accuse us of being beneath his servants and kill our bodies with worry and guilt for it. It's not only okay to point out when a holier-than-thou self-appointed spokesman for God blasphemes, it's required of us! Do you know Rick Warren personally? Do you have such an intimate relationship with him that you know of a different fruit that he bears? Maybe you do but all I have is his very propped up public fruit. His high profile AIDS, world hunger, global warming conferences are NOT what scripture describes as good fruit. His public acknowledgement that baby murderers and homosexuals are his close friends and "brothers in Christ" are the fruit that I'm just not able to look over to see the pretty fruit. Demons laugh at us when we defend these liars. The accuser of the bretheren smuggly points out to God that His children wouldn't know scripture if their lives depended on it...and they (our lives) do. I gave my broken, hell-bound life to my Savior 30 years ago. 20 years ago I started opening my eyes to the methods that the enemy had used on me as an individual. I realized that it was all customized (God says he's "crafty") for me and adjustments made as needed. I started to realize that he uses the exact same methods in the church and that my Bible verifies it precisely from cover to cover. I've got alot more to learn but I know who my enemy is and how he operates. I may not always know specifics, but I know his personality. It's rotten. How many Christians do you know that are really equipped to fight against or even consider how active demonic spirits are in their lives? We ("churchies") have been had and we are actually very easy for the seducer. As a matter of fact, we are actually bringing curses on us for taking Gods holiness so lightly. I know this was wordy, but you don't know me any more than you probably know Rick Warren and words are all I have. I'm still frustrated though. Chances are that your guilt trip will stop you from going anywhere near that first ugly step that some revelations begin with. As for your blessing, I already have "grace and peace" because I have liberty from my qualified Liberator! Click here to reply to this post
God grows the Church

God grows the Church, NOT man. He may use men to get His Word out to other men, but the Holy Spirit does the convicting. There is no evidence in the Bible that any of the Apostles or Prophets used "baiting" or "hooking" to purvey the Gospel of Jesus Christ crucified. There is a story in the Book of Acts (8:9-25) where Peter and John were laying hands on people who then were receiving the Holy Ghost. A man named Simon, who had been practicing sorcery, saw what Peter and John were doing, and so offered them money that he, Simon, might receive the Holy Ghost. Peter and John rebuked him for even thinking that the Holy Spirit was for sale. (Actually, Simon was baptised and believed, but his conversion was outward only. Simon's story is that of a false convert, who appears to have then sought repentance.) Jesus Christ is not a commodity that can be sold, or even given away, to anyone by using just the right marketing techniques. George Cancilla Click here to reply to this post
What does the Bible say about criticizing...

Todd, I've never heard your program before and I probably won't listen again... If this is what you do on your programs please show me in the Bible where it tells us to criticize one another...I do know of what the Bible instructs us to do when our brother sins or is in error.. do you? If you do... then do it. This criticizing thing says more about your character and how little you actually know about the Bible or perhaps you know not to criticize but you decided to criticize him anyway. Your flippant, know so much more attitude... tells me you don't care about people. You only want people to think that you are so very smart and spiritual. You may be spiritual but I know that the Spirit of God does not criticize. What spirit does that leave you with?
How big is "Your" church Pastor Friel... The Church of those who Criticize others... The Bible also talks about those who touch Gods annointed... obviously you are so smart that you know that Pastor Rick Warren is not annointed so that it is OK to publicly criticize him... correct? Pastor Friel how many people have you let to the Lord? Are these people crital like you? Is this how you teach them by criticizing others? I have never been to Rick Warrens church... never met that man. I've heard about some of his accomplishments... it seems very impressive. I know that he is just a man like you and I... but who gave you the license to criticize your brother?
I think you need to shut your mouth... ask God to forgive you for what you have done (have been doing) Publically apologise to Rick Warren (wether he is right or wrong..)and get the log out of your big fat know it all mouth before you try to get the tooth pick out of Rick Warrens... and get some sinserity in helping people who are trying to lead people to Jesus!!!
We have enough homosexuals, perverts, judges, Mulsums, senators, movies, magazines, newspapers, tv show's, etc... that are trying so very desperately to destroy any and all the work of God that we sinful, ignorant, stupid, selfserving, egotistical, arrogant Christian men are trying to do on this earth... We are it. How about helping out. We really don't need someone else tearing us down. Even when we say stupid things... We are all sinners! How do we make it better. Are we not brothers and sisters in the Lord!
Is this how God instructs us to treat our brothers and sisters. Click here to reply to this post

"Your flippant, know so much more attitude... tells me you don't care about people. You only want people to think that you are so very smart and spiritual. You may be spiritual but I know that the Spirit of God does not criticize."
Uhm, so what spirit are you operating from in criticizing Todd - smacks of hypocrisy, if you ask me. The Bible tells us to "test the spirit" as to whether or not it is of Christ and to study to show ourselves approved workmen, rightly dividing the Word of Truth. When our brother/sister is not properly proclaiming God's Word, then what is the believer's responsibility? To correct in a spirit of gentleness and humility. What if the person's teachings seem heretical and they are influencing not only their own local Body but the Body of Christ around the world? What if the person is a member of the extremely worldly Council on Foreign Relations that has a distinct agenda of globalism? What if that person is Rick Warren? Then the watchmen on the wall have the responsibility and the obligation to sound the trumpet. Warnings are not necessarily going to be worded kindly as noted in the writings of many Old Testament prophets. Click here to reply to this post
Anyone who misleads others about what it takes to be a disciple of Christ should be brought to bear for their actions. Warren and many others are telling people that they should know God's purpose or will for their lives, and that is true, but they must first be told that they are sinners who must repent and surrender to Christ first...and do so everyday. It is not criticism when we warn others of error: "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore and repent." (Revelation 3:19). George Cancilla Click here to reply to this post
But...

George,
I think that too many have, in their zeal, chosen to place themselves as the "I" person in that verse of Revelation rather than allowing the person who spoke those words to do the rebuking and chastening. Too often we believe that because I am right the other person must be wrong. I know that my God is big enough to rebuke and chasten those He would, He simply doesn't need me to stick my limited understanding into what He may or may not be doing in someone else's life (much like the disciples were offended when the other who was not among them was working miracles in Jesus's name). Instead He instructs me to follow Him where He is leading ME, that is my task, not to question God's Will for others as Peter did at the end of John.
*** A note about your previous post regarding "hooks", it seems to me that every time we see preaching/teaching taking place in the Gospels or Acts it is premeditated by some type of hook. Look to the miracles that Jesus performed; the ministry He did in the form of healings, exorcisms and meeting the physical and emotional needs of those who came to Him. Look at Pentecost with the tongues of flame and the miracle of hearing. Look at Peter and John in the temple healing the paralytic. Look at Paul even in his debates drawing the hearers in by tailoring his message to them. All of these hooks were designed to give the person a "felt need" to help reveal their deepest need. In the same way I have found that people respond to the Love of God in us more than the Wrath of God in us. Not to say that they don't need salvation or that the Bible is authoritative or any of that, but simply that my job is to be God's Ambassador, not His Executioner. I'm sure that I will be filleted by the "Real Christians" on this site for my thoughts, but blessings to you in your journey! Click here to reply to this post
