Is God Judging America?

Is God Judging America?

America is nine trillion dollars in debt. For those who normally don’t count that high and are not familiar with how much that is, a “trillion” is a thousand billion. That’s no small change. Ironically, 1.7 trillion of that debt is to Arab nations, 200 billion to China and 125 billion to Russia. Think about those nations for a minute.

Over two million houses are in foreclosure. Two million. A gallon of milk costs as much as a gallon of gas, and a gallon of gas is costing an arm and a leg. Add to that the incredibly bad news that we are not winning the war over cancer--over 2,300,000 Americans will get cancer in the next year, many of whom will be children, and you can see that we are in serious trouble.

ABC News recently published an article titled “More Than 60 Percent of U.S. in Drought.” We have become used to seeing onslaughts of floods, hurricanes lining up on our coasts, and killer tornadoes by the dozens ripping up the nation like there’s no tomorrow. And, of course, we are in a war that it seems we can’t win.

The above are all signs of God’s dealings with a sinful nation. If you find that hard to believe, read Deuteronomy 28 and see what God warned would happen to Israel if they forsook His Commandments and turned their backs on Him. Hold onto a pen and underline places where Scripture warns that they will get into financial debt and become the tail, not the head. Look again at the nations to whom we are in debt. Underline how God says that aliens will flood the country, or that their enemies will overcome them, or that disease will plague them.

When you hold your pen also hold on to your theology, because that chapter will destroy any image of God as being a celestial Santa Claus. He is a God of Justice and truth as much as He is of love and mercy. To have a mere one or two virtues of His character in your image of God, and to leave out the others, is to have an idol in your mind.

We are no different than ancient Israel. We are a nation that has forgotten God and created other gods before Him. He lavished His goodness upon us and we have blasphemed His holy name. Instead of honoring the God who gave us life, we have bowed before the golden calf of Wall Street (which is melting before our eyes). We have also embraced the foolish, unsubstantiated, unscientific theory paraded as the gospel truth called “evolution,” and when the blossoms bloom, mother nature is praised for what she has made. Our churches are filled with preachers who preach another gospel, portraying God as a divine butler. As a nation, we have forgotten God. Almost. When there’s a tragic disaster and people are killed and property destroyed, insurance companies call it “An act of God.” Perhaps they have been reading the truths of Holy Scripture.

Big Warning
Posted On: 04/21/08 10:27:26 PM Age 33, OK
Here's a part of one prophetic word vision given to his servant D. Duduman. "Then a 3rd scroll was opened which had names written on it also. Yet their was something written only beside the names on the top half. From the halfway mark down by each name there were flashing stars. I asked what this meant. One of the men said to me. These are those with whom the number will be completed. The seed of God has reached their hearts and is even now working toward repentance. When the total number will be complete all of the devastation will begin. Until then, I will send great plagues over America that they may wake up from the sleep with which they are sleeping, and from their self-reliance; that they may see their pride and boastfullness. Part of a word given to Dumitru Duduman in the 80's-90's

What happened to my post ?
Posted On: 04/14/08 05:01:07 PM Age 33, OK
I was watching Into the West miniseries about Wheeler family moving west during the time the country persecuted the Indians, a young girl travelling gets her leg rolled over by a wheel, it gets gangrene maggots crawling inside it they tried to saw off her leg with old saw all night long, she died anyway, couldn't get that image out of my head. I thought if it were different times if they had better instruments she could've lived. Next morning I hear holy spirit say America is like that young woman eat up with sin unless I cut her apart she won't live. I wept for several days hearing that I told other people they looked at me like I was crazy. That was a month before Katrina I was shown two more signs since then. The post I put on about Dumuntru Duduman visions about America's judgments were deleted. Rev.3:17-19 Because thou sayest,I am rich and increased with goods, and have need of nothing;and knowest not that thou are wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich, and white raiment that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eye with eye-salve, that thou mayest see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten; be zealous therefore, and repent.

Judgement
Posted On: 04/13/08 01:28:11 AM Age 28, CHINA
Brothers and Sisters, God is not judging America. The wages of sin is death. But all judgement was put on Jesus. To judge America would be like saying Jesus wasn' enough. Please consider the grace of our Father God. Sin is no longer an issue with God. All sin was paid for by Jesus. Amen...what a wonderful Saviour we have. Praise King Jesus!

Friend: You are exactly right. God is not judging America, sin is running it's course and brings its own destruction. This is why when we stand before the Holy God on the day of judgement, we will condemn ourselves. We can't stand before the rightous God and without Jesus, we condemn ourselves to die. Good Post! Amen Ray
Posted On: 04/12/08 01:06:55 PM Age 49, IL
Excellent article, America is under the wrath of God, as are all nations, because of unrepentant sin. God judges all sin, regardless of location, nationality, country...Ray hit the mark with the wisdom God has given him from Deuteronomy. Yes, this was in reference to Israel, but the important thing to take from that is not the fact of who God addressed, but why... because of sin, it was a warning. Notice verse 47, "Because you did not serve the Lord your God joyfully and gladly in the time of prosperity, therefore, in hunger and thirst, in nakedness and dire poverty, you will serve the enemies the Lord sends against you." There is ALWAYS consequences to sin and disobedience, whether you are a Jew or a Gentile. There is not separate punishment based on Jew or Gentile, for all are one race, the human race, created by one God. The same warning to repent or else is still in effect, and will be until Christ returns. God will and does judge with war, famine, disease, drought, pestilence; *He uses different kinds of wrath, 1.eternal wrath, which is hell,2. eschatological wrath, which is the final day of the Lord, 3.cataclysmic wrath, like the flood and the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, 4.consequential wrath, which is the principle of sowing and reaping, ,5. and the wrath of abandonment, which is removing restraint and letting people go to their sins {*John MacArthur Study Bible, NKJV pg 1693} God bless you Ray, for this sobering truth.

Distinguish God's direct judgment from the natural consequences of sinful behavior
Posted On: 04/09/08 06:23:48 AM Age 64, IN
God set up the earth to operate well when people live according to His laws and principles and to suffer the consequences of not doing so. Are we not suffering those consequences in the main rather than experiencing the direct judgment of God at this time? Has God sovereignly put us into debt, brought diseases upon us and forced us to take massive amounts of medications for emotional/mental problems, or have we simply lived beyond our means without contentment, abused our bodies and stressed out our lives so we face the consequences of such behaviors? God will certainly bring judgment on the earth at some point, but I tend to think most of what we are experiencing now is the natural outcome of ungodly living.

Judging America
Posted On: 04/08/08 10:43:17 PM Age 70, OH
No place in scripture are we told that God will judge the nations before Christ comes with his saints. Israel was judged because God was dealing with them personally. Christ had not yet been revealed as the Messiah (Saviour) who came to seek and save those who are lost. After the Jews rejected Jesus, he used Saul (Paul) of Tarsus to bring forth the "age of grace" which will not end until every last person God gave to Christ comes into his body, the church. Then God'd judgement will come. We took God out of the schools, he is being eliminated from the public square, as I write, preachers are being told what they can and cannot preach. We are enabling our own demise we don't need his help.

  1. GODS JUDGMENT IS UPON THIS NATION
    Posted On: 04/09/08 02:36:07 PMAge 64, OH
I think you are listening to your doctrine rather than The Holy Scriptures. You say, "No place in scripture are we told that God will judge the nations before Christ comes with his saints". What do you call the flood. I would say God judged all the nations wouldn't you. I would say God judged all the people of the earth in the tower of babel. God judged the Egyptians with the plagues and then the drowning of their army in the red sea. God judged Assyria, Babylon, Persia, and Greece. If you do not like the OT then go to the new and see God judged Rome. God causes nations to rise like Britain to preach the gospel and then causes them to fall when they stray from Him. The United States has been judged by God before. Abraham Lincoln certainly thought this nation was being judged by God for allowing slavery in the civil war. I think this nation is being judged by God for falling away from the Godly principles that it was it's foundation. Lou

Lou: I think the man is saying that the wage of sin is death. Sin brings its own demise since no good can come of it. So, God is not judging America, but America is running its course of turning away from God. When we stand before the HOLY GOD, we will judge ourselves to eternal seperation. John

  2. What about Romans 13?
    Posted On: 04/09/08 10:14:25 AMAge 48, CA
We are told to submit to the governing authorities because there is no government that stands without Gods' permission. When Pilate boasted about his power to free him or have him condemmed, Jesus replied "You would have no such power unless it were given from above". Are you implying that God had nothing to to with the rise and collapse of Empires since the time of Christ? Quite to the contrary, I see the hand of God in every such event! It is no accident that every dominant empire since Christ has been a Christian one (Or at least one which claimed to be) And that all of these empires were at the hieght of thier opostasy when they fell. Even British history credits God with the destruction of the Spanish Armada, not thier own seamanship. Our own Founding Fathers did not believe for one moment that they beat the British onthier own streanth. One of the founding fathers even went so far as to proclaim "Nations, unlike men have no afterlife so while men can be judged in the next life, nations are judged in this one." It would appear that we are currently going through Romans 1:18-36.

No National Covenant
Posted On: 04/08/08 08:40:00 PM Age 19, CA
I think you'd need to at least make the case that we are in the same kind of covenant that Israel was (is?) before you draw conclusions from God's threats to them before disobeying. Perhaps all this is God's judgment, but not necessarily for the same reason. Perhaps if you could find God's threats against Gentile nations for disobeying, that would make your case better? Like Sodom and Gomorrah for example, or Nineveh.

  1. THIS NATION WAS A CHRISTIAN NATION

The Pilgrims were the new Israel sent to the promised land by God Almighty. Read the writing of the Pilgrims and you will see they seen themselves as Israel. Israel means "one who has power with God". Are not all True Christians the children of God or Israel. The founding fathers seen this nation as a nation with a "Christian nation". They said many places that the constitution would only work for a people who followed Jesus Christ and believed the Bible. This nation had a covenant with God and it has broken it. Now we are in the judgment of God and our only hope is to repent for our sin to Him. Lou

Our laws say nothing about religious beliefs. They cannot legally do so - neither to promote nor inhibit any such beliefs. Therefore, this cannot possibly be a "Christian Nation" as one can be anything and still be an American. The Founders were mostly Deists, which means they believed in "a" god, but not the God of the Bible, the way we do who are Christian. God's "judgment" is yet to come, though His warnings and punishments are obvious now.

      1. THE PILGRIMS WERE CHRISTIAN
        Posted On: 04/14/08 10:37:35 PMAge 64, OH
1st of all the founders of this nation as far as the ones that had the most influence was the pilgrims. The pilgrims were Christians and NOT deists. As far as the founders of our revolution and constitution they were not deists either. John Adams and George Washington were probably the most influential and they were both Christians. If one actually reads the writings of these men you will see that they did set up this government to be a Christian nation. There was an official Christian service right after the inauguration of Washington. The majority of the founding fathers were professing Christians. Many are quoted as saying that the constitution would only work for a people who were Christian and followed the Bible. That is why we are having so many problems now. Even the so called professing Christians of this nation do not want to follow the constitution as it was set up for a Christian nation. It was the blood sweat and tears of professing Christians who founded this land and NOT Muslim or eastern religion or atheists. We allow quest to come to our land and they want to make it like the lands that they left and were so unhappy with. If people want a Muslim nation then go back to the Muslim nations they came from. men had a right to found a Christian nation and we have a right to keep it that way. Lou

        1. Judeo-Christian Nation
          Posted On: 04/30/08 12:45:12 PMAge 48, GA
Lou: I love what you do and wished I could do what you do. But not to put too fine a point on it, the America was founded as a JUDEO-Christian nation, wasn't it? Yes, you are correct that our Pilgrim/Puritan forebears have more influence on our way of life than the Deists and Christian men who formed its later government. But from our "national" foundations were never purely Christian (i.e. "turn the other cheek, etc.), but a rather unique hybrid of Law and Gospel. A Judeo-Christian Covenant nation. There has always been something original and different about America that the Founding Fathers sensed and yes, especially Abraham Lincoln. The two Great Awakenings, the Civil War, the Great Expansion, post WWII hegemony, and being the only nation to recognize modern Israel at its founding in 1948. I am not a British-Iraelist, but as an African-American who loves history, I also see a strong covenant relationship between the God of the Bible and America that I can't quite put a finger on in scripture. So yes, God is judging America b/c she has renounced her vows to Him.

          1. THE LIGHT AND THE GLORY
            Posted On: 04/30/08 08:58:01 PMAge 64, OH
Thanks for your kind and thought provoking reply. As George Cancilla once said, the laws and actions of man can not trump the laws and actions of God. God Almighty established this nation as a place where His people could worship Him in freedom. Read the "Light and the Glory" for a true history of this nation that includes the acts of God to establish it. Just as God established a garden for His people to live in peace and it was invaded by the Devil so this nation has been invaded by the Devil also. But just as Eve had to willing obey the Devil, the people of this nation has done the same. The Lord Jesus then established a City of the Great King at Jerusalem and was it's King who was called Melchizedek or Lord of Righteousness. The Lord called Abraham to Himself and there was again a place for His people. Years later he called them to the promised land to stop the great sin of the people who had taken over Jerusalem. But Israel became unfaithful also and was carried away. When The Lord Jesus sent them back to Jerusalem, they became unfaithful again. This time He came back after being born of a woman to fulfill the plan that was from the beginning, to save us from our sins and shed His blood for us. Look in Genesis 1 and see the plan of Jesus that He shows by the way he created the universe. Jesus gathers and then separates. He has been doing this from the beginning and will continue to do so to the end of this age. The followers of The Lord Jesus were sent to this land and this nation was blessed by Jesus because of His people. Now even the people who were His are falling away and are very few in number. Destruction will come to this nation and it will all happen "in one hour". We who trust The Lord Jesus, and no one else, to save us will be held in His hand and NO ONE will be able to remove us. I do not write or do anything that is good, only The Lord Jesus is good and anything that I write that is not so good is from me and me alone, anything that I write that is good is from The Holy Spirit of the Lord Jesus and Him alone. Hoping to be His slave. Lou

If we think God is judging our nation now, watch out. As our government is beginning to turn its back on Isreal, telling Israel to give up their God-given land, the hand of God will be even more removed from our nation. I truly believe that God has protected our country thus far because of our protection and commitment to Isreal. But that is changing and I believe it will be to our peril. Take these scriptures into consideration: Joel 3:1-4 For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land. And they have cast lots for my people; and have given a boy for an harlot, and sold a girl for wine, that they might drink. Yea, and what have ye to do with me, O Tyre, and Zidon, and all the coasts of Palestine? will ye render me a recompence? and if ye recompense me, swiftly and speedily will I return your recompence upon your own head...

....yesterday, today and tomorrow. He never turned His back on Israel and He never will. Ezek. 11:13-21 which began in 1948 and continues today. See Jer. 23:1-6. Israel will never cease to be a nation, the nation that God created from the seed of Abraham. Jer. 31:35-37. God will plant Israel back in their land: Amos 9:14-15. Even Zech. 14:1 tells us God will gather all nations against Israel to accomplish His will. And here's some New Testiment proof that God's promises to Israel are valid in the 21st Century: Romans9:1-5 and Romans 11:1-27. The word says it much clearer than I can. Blessings, Valeri

I just wondered how you explain that there was no nation of Israel from shortly after the cross of Christ until 1948. that is almost 2000 years. Abraham had children as the sands of the seashore and then as the stars. Or earthly children and heavenly children. There is natural Israel and spiritual Israel. Spiritual Israel has always existed since the creation of man until now. Lou
