I received a promotion today for a new DVD out in June called, The Source of the Secret: Revelations of Faith, Joy & Gratitude. Word-faith teachers like John Bevere, Oral Roberts and several others unite to promote the “Law of Attraction” as taught in the bestselling “The Secret”. Here’s the promotion letter from the agency.
“Following the immense success of Dr. Ben Johnson’s The Secret, GT Media announces the release of the DVD companion, The Source of the Secret, on June 24th. Offering viewers the chance to delve deep into the principles and promise of The Secret, The Source of the Secret goes beyond surface truths to more meaningful revelations.
The DVD provides more profound insight into faith and goes beyond the media sound bytes to the substance behind the beliefs. Special features include interviews with the world’s leading and most influential teachers including Dr. Ben Johnson (The Secret), John Bevere and Oral Roberts.”
I have news for them. Oral Roberts has been teaching the principles of the Law of Attraction for decades under different names. Here is the trailer for “The Source of the Secret” DVD, coming out in June. Look at the line-up of supposedly evangelical pastors promoting this stuff.

I didn't see John Bevere anywhere in the trailer nor did I see his name anywhere on their website. Please show me how you have linked him to this false teaching. There is nothing that I can find. Not saying it's not true, but it would be nice to see some solid proof. Thanks. Click here to reply to this post

Has anybody bothered to check Oral Roberts failed prophecies? He is still here after his revelation from god that he would be taken home if he didn't raise what...8 million during the 80's. Any decent reading of Deuteronomy would show he is by God's definition a false prophet. So why would anyone be following a false prophet or associating themselvs with him?

What they were saying is true, our attitudes do determine the environment we are in. It's when they talk about positive thinking to the level of that being the only thing that is important for you to excel in this life. That would leave out the gifts of the Spirit for the believer. Not all gifts are seemingly positive. Click here to reply to this post
The Secret is OUT

This stuff is Word of Faith scam theology taken to another level of deception. We humans do NOT have everything under our control, as the person in the trailer suggested. The "law of attraction" about harmonious vibrations is not even good science, but pure hogwash. The power of positive thinking may be valid to a certain extent, but we do not get God to do our bidding. I'm not sure what we can do for the people who buy into this garbage, other than point them to 2 Thessalonians 2:11: "And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie." Maybe this "Secret" message will appear so far fetched that many who have fallen for some of the more subtle Word of Faith theology will recognize the error of their ways. New Age and Health/Wealth have met!

I was involved in the Health and Wealth Gospel for years until the Lord delivered me from it. I use the word deliverance because it took strong intervention from the LOrd. It is hard to let go of all the formulas and difficult to believe you can be deceived. That may be one of it's stongest holds. Both those in the New Age and Health and Wealth Gospel have a hard time believing they could possibly be decieved. They both thrive on arrogance and pride. While in it I hated hearing that one day the two would merge, but here we are! Amazing! Click here to reply to this post
