Eckhart Tolle’s Book Sells by the Millions Through Oprah

Eckhart Tolle’s Book Sells by the Millions Through Oprah

According to this news report last Thursday, Oprah’s latest New Age author, Eckhart Tolle, is seeing his book fly off the shelves by the millions. Webcasting (webinar) begins today for Oprah and Eckhart’s interactive program. Millions are being deceived by this. Tolle is a rising star among New Spirituality teachers, thanks to Oprah, who also singlehandedly turned Marianne Williamson from an unknown New Age author into a best selling global spokesperson for the cause. Robert A. Schuller appears with Tolle in the New Age extravaganza DVD, just released, called the Living Luminaries. See my post from last week. We have Rob Bell teaching that the spark of the divine is within every living person, openly promoting New Agers like Ken Wilber, and taking his message into the heart of the evangelical church through his Nooma videos and books. How much clearer does it have to get that the lines are very clearly being drawn between biblical Christianity and the emerging spirituality that encompasses all who reject the authority of the Word.

**When Neale Donald Walsch, bestselling New Age author, was with me in the Crosstalk studio 4 years ago, he told me that he had just recorded two back-to-back interviews for Oprah. Oddly, she refused to air them. After calling and calling to find out why, Oprah’s producers told him that according to Oprah, the world was not “ready” for his teachings. As I said last week, the world is ready now. Expect something from Walsch soon on Oprah, perhaps even the original interviews. I had heard a tape of a Walsch seminar out in Idaho prior to my interview. Walsch had said that he really hoped Oprah Winfrey would be President some day because of her New Spirituality leanings. As Walsch left the studio that day, I made mention of Oprah and the political scene. “It would be interesting to see Oprah pushed forward for political leadership,” I said. He turned around to face me and said, “That is a most interesting comment.” Four years later, I watched as Oprah Winfrey introduced Barack Obama to a screaming audience. Oprah would make a very powerful figure in a cabinet level position for the Department of Peace that has been so promoted by her friends, including Congressman Dennis Kucinich. Read about it here.

Oprah Winfrey, Eckhart Tolle, Wayne Dyer and others are on the leading edge of what the Lord is bringing forth for his people in these days. You will learn and experience more of God listening to these folks than you will spending years in most churches. What is being taught is that we are all one, God is the father of us all and we need to love and forgive each other, look over our differences and religious preferences and know that if we are seeking God we will find him. He will speak to you in your own culture or religion no matter what that is. There is a longing within to know God and to find the answers to life. Jesus said, “When He the Spirit of life is come He will lead you into all truth. When you begin to awaken to the spirit within, the spirit of truth within us is the only way we can really know the truth. How he leads anyone is not our business. We love and accept all and let God do the changing that needs to be done. Jesus said, “I am the door.” He did NOT mean what most Christians think he meant. I AM is the door. A door is an entrance into another place. Most Christians worship what they think is the door but do not enter the door. Entering the door is not just receiving Jesus; it is entering into your own spirit, your own I am presence and living from that realm. Living in that realm you see everyone as God sees them. They are spiritual beings on a journey to experience life in the physical realm. Living from the heavenlies you realize that “as a man thinks in His heart so is He.” “Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.” “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.” We are not here to find the right religion or the right Church. We are here to live an abundant life as we discover that life within us is flowing and that the source of our being is spirit and all that we need flows to us from the spirit realm. Jesus taught that to love God and to love one another was the fulfilling of all the law. Christians fight the Muslims for their radical belief. Yet Christians for the most part bite and devour all who disagree with their concept of religious beliefs. This attitude must stop before a real unity can come to those who love God in all cultures and religions. Our unity is in loving God and loving one another, not in fighting over who is right and wrong. The tree of the knowledge of good and evil is what started all the problems to begin with. As long as you are living by the knowledge of good and evil you will never experience the deep love of God for all of humanity.

Joshua, I appreciate your words and you raise some valid points. I would like to address one, and that is that you say Christians devour anyone who does not believe they way they do, and compare Christians to Extreme Islam/Muslium thinking....there is a valid and vast difference, and as a Christian I do not support those who call themselves Christians, yet hurt others with judgment and extremeism, I believe you will find these type people in any "religion". Secondly, we are all seekers of something in this life, and we are all from the One Source in our universe, God....it would do all human beings good to understand that, butit all comes down to is this, the laws of God are black and White, (the ten commandments) there is no gray matter between the lines, they say and mean exaclty as they are written. In our own power ( as Tolle believes) we cannot live up to those laws, and we cannot spend our lives trying to earn our way into heaven by our deed, or our ability to separate from our ego's. But, God loved us so much he made a way, so that we could live with the peace that "it is done", thru acceptance of Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour, we can live in peace, we can live in detachment from our "ego" as Tolle claims, thru that peace, we are allowed to make mistakes, and have successes, and "rest" in the knowledge that we are "free". It is not extreme Christianity, it is simply the "truth". There is only one way, and that is thru Jesus Christ. People can read Tolle, I bought the book myself, but I do not see him as a way, as a means by which I choose to live my life, he says we have a "life force" or spirit, that goes on after our bodies stop, if we are Christians we already know this, so why is it just now a revalation for so many? Again, not extreme, just honest, there is ONLY one way, Period. Beware of wolves in sheep's clothing. God Bless

Be Aware

Anyone that wants to read this book in order to know what Oprah is promoting worldwide, be cautioned- pray first to ask God to give you His Holy Spirit's discernment and to protect you from deception. I did so, and it was a good thing. Already in the first chapter the author disquises himself as an angel of light but underlying is a message that twists. The gist of what the author says is that,God-fearing, churched people with solid beliefs and absolute truths, are weighing down this planet and it is those who are deteriorating our earth as we are seeing now. He encourages the special few that can, to grasp these insights and evolve to a higher spiritual place of conciousness in a silent space that transcends thought and beliefs. He slowly & subtley creates doubt and fear about mainstream churches and faith. The spirit of Antichrist is alive and well in this guy.

In the world, there are a few truly evil people on one side and few truly saved people on the other. What we are always discussing is the fight for the middle. The reason why evil is currently taking advantage is the Greed that has replaced wisdom on the right. I once heard the phrase, "If gold will rust, what is iron to do?" I believe we have our answer.

  1. Sheep, Sheep Dogs, and wolves
    Posted On: 03/08/08 10:03:37 AMAge 47, MO
To put your thoughts another way, the way that would promote the right to carry arms. The world is made up of sheep, sheep dogs, and wolves. The sheep go about their self absorbed lives happily grazing oblivious to the politics and culture, unaware that their rights are being taken away and that God is being mocked. The sheep dog watches and prepares for the what if. He is studied, diligent, prepared, trustworthy, and mostly unappreciated. He is marginalized as a square peg, conservative, fool until that day God prepared for him to stand. When that day comes and when life is on the line, the sheep scatter and many will be slaughtered but the sheep dog will save a few as he risks his own life. This is the Christian life, to be prepared for that day. John

It Pays to buy time on Oprah
Posted On: 03/03/08 04:51:24 PM Age 61, MO
It used to be a joke around my house and friends who had given up TV for Lent (just kidding, we actually gave it up permanently)(we aren't Catholic either); that most people were hearing the Gospel according to Peter Jennings. Oprah Winfrey has at least as many in her listening audience, but it ceases to be a joke. Rather, it is an abomination to purvey Biblical error by putting false prophets like Neale Walsh or Tolle in the limelight; while almost in the same breath, promoting the anti Christian government of a Barrack Obama. (It becomes an Obamanation). If people really wanted a course in miracles, they could read any of the four Gospels. But then doing so might cause them to have to think. Many of us have been trying to warn others about these false religious/spiritual idealogies, but there is only so much we can do. We can only hope that the Holy Spirit will convict many to repentance; because we cannot play the part of the Holy Spirit for them. George Cancilla

  1. THEY MAKE THEMSELF god
    Posted On: 03/07/08 02:34:05 PMAge 64, OH
George, there is a reason people build idols as Oprah does. They are the ones who build these idols and then they speak for them and make them say what they want them to say. If a person reads the Holy Scriptures and looks for The Truth then they will lose their comfort and be convicted of their sin. The only way to regain peace again is to confess their sin and repent and make Jesus Christ their King. But Oprah likes sitting on the throne too much to humble herself to do this. These people have made themselves god and they can not entertain the thought of being a servant. Lou
