Are Democrats and Their Candidates ‘Traitors’?

Are Democrats and Their Candidates ‘Traitors’?

“Woe to you, O traitor” (Is 33:1)

“But the king of Assyria discovered that Hoshea was a traitor… Therefore Shalmaneser seized him and put him in prison.” (2 Kings 17:4; see also: Neh 13:4)

It is not always difficult to detect TRAITORS, especially when they are in full view as they cast their votes in the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives.

Democrats (including candidates Obama and Clinton) have shown again that they did not mean it when they promised to PROTECT you and me from terrorist (read jihadist) attacks.

“Harry, how can you say that with such certainty?” you may ask.

My answer: “Read the excerpts below regarding the renewal of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).   Democrats do not want to allow this to be renewed, thereby emasculating our intelligence operations.”

You may wonder why elected Americans would continuously block this very important legislation.  Here are a few educated guesses:

  1. Democrats do not take this War seriously;
  2. Democrats are basically anti-war pacifists;
  3. Democrats are against everything President Bush proposes;
  4. Democrats are controlled by a group of significant leftist organizations; in this case MoveOn.com, the ACLU and trial lawyers;
  5. Trial Lawyers do not favor the protection granted to telecommunication companies; they want to SUE them!

According to a Heritage Foundation memo, this behavior of the Democrats is “to the detriment of national security”.  If their politics encourage our sworn enemies (people who intend to murder as many of us as possible), are these “leaders” not committing “treason” (Webster: “betraying one’s country”)?

Here are some excerpts to help you understand this matter:

From the Heritage Foundation:

“The Senate is on the verge of passing legislation to extend the important intelligence surveillance authorities of the Protect America Act, passed six months ago. Those authorities, set to expire on February 1, allow the intelligence services to conduct surveillance of communications between persons located outside of the United States when the communications happen to pass through domestic networks. Without this fix, approving such intercepts of solely international communicants would become an even lengthier and more onerous process—one never intended even by the Congress that passed the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA)—to the great detriment of national security.

“In addition, the Senate legislation grants retroactive immunity to telecom providers that, in good faith, worked with the government in its surveillance programs, a fair and crucial step to encourage future cooperation on security matters.”

Entire memo: The Intelligence Community Needs Clear - and Permanent - FISA Reform

From Human Events:

“Republican Senate leaders fell well short of the 60 votes needed to end debate on the bipartisan Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act bill…”

“Democrats are still playing chicken with national security.”

“[T]hese Democrats… are willing to deprive our intelligence gatherers of the ability they now have to disrupt terrorist attacks, prevent terrorists from entering the US and discover terrorists’ disguises.  Those are actions we usually associate with enemies and their agents, not allies or fellow Americans.”

Entire article: FISA Cloture Vote Failed Monday

[Last Wednesday, Congress avoided killing FISA by passing a pathetic 15 day extension which will expire next week.]

How do we PRAY?

1.      REPENT!  As Christians we are all responsible for the deterioration of our culture (see my last Alert of Feb 1 – Dan 9: 4f);

2.      Ask the Lord to CONVICT these politicians of their wicked ways (Hab 1: 12-13);

3.      MAY FISA PASS!

To oppose a war using the political process To question our policies To refuse to cower behind governent agencies To oppose the president within the constitutional system of checks and balances On just about every other issue I will continue to oppose the Democrats but on this war, I say Close the checkbook and shut it down!

The response to this article seems to show what camps these readers are in. It seems to me that the issue has everything to do with democrats or republicans. If republicans start down this road, as many of the democrats have done, they are as guilty of treason as many of the democrats are. We have been at war with Islam since 300 AD, they started North and got to Spain and the Balkans before being turned back. To tie the hands of our intelligence community will lead to a catastrophic event, which with great loss of life will lead to a quick loss of our freedoms by necessity. It is foolish to stick our heads in the sand because of our party affiliations. We should be Christian first American second, and party affiliates last.

    The Muslims did not invade a rightious christian nation in 300 AD. The collapse of Rome led to a massive free for all and the Muslims were just one of many grabbers. If nothing else, Spain and the Balkins were lands conquered by Rome and even when Rome began to claim its self "Christian" Under Constantine, it continued its oppressive ways only using Christ as an excuse for what they did. This is probably why the Lord pulled the plug on the empire. It is not about putting ones head in the sand. It is about where ones faith is and mine is not in cowering behind a corrupt self serving military industrial complex. Anyone who allows themselves to be terrorised has a weak faith at best, false faith at worst. To cower aover Muslims 8,000 miles away while our own abortion clinics, gangs, drugs, and sexual imorality kill, shoot, poison, and infect far more of us than any terrorist group could ever dream of doing is the true source of ignorance.

    to say that "we" have been at war with Islam since 300AD is wrong in several ways. Islam wasn't founded till around the 700's. The Moors didn't invade Spain until around 1200 or 1300 AD (They invaded Europe sometime before 1000 ad, but Charles Martel defeated them, and they weren't even all Muslims). We invaded their territory during the Crusades you know. There were plenty examples in Spain of peaceful coexistence between Christians and Moors (Muslims), but apparently that is acceptable today. -Dan Smith

      Ca.48 and MN. 21. All technically true, however from first vision till now, Islam has been a religion of conquest by the sword. To think otherwise is naive. More and more they have the money and infrastructure to wage war. To take tools out of the hands of our warriors, CIA et al. will come back to haunt us if they become a necessity. The Geneva Convention thinking only works when we are dealing with countries that can be held accountable. Rogue prosecutors of Jihad will not be cowed by the threat of retaliation.

        Where in the Bible is "The will of the people" AKA "Democracy" Ever spoken of favorably much less called upon to go to war over? This myth that if we only invade nations and set up democratic governments and everthing will be ok is a gross error at best, an outright blasphamy at worst. Islam id growing inside the borders of our nations. If we cannot leaven people with our own nation out of Islam then whatever puppet governent we set up over there can't do it either. Our own spiritual bankruptcy is what fuels Islam. Wherever we get out way, sexual imorality, teen pregnancy, drugs, gangs, and crime flourish. To add to this, our Churches either turn a blind eye and continue to pay lip service to God way all the while our own divorce, abortion, drug use, teen pregnancy, and other vices are little if any different than those of the Heathens or we have liberal churches who actually pass out condoms to teens telling them "Don't worry! Grace will cover you! The problem is not with "Those evil Muslims" It is with our own spiritual crisis.

        There is an equal one for the so called "Church". "So Called" Because there is no call in the Gospel to go fourth on wars of liberation. From the Crusades to today, anyone who calls for such a war is a false teacher. Are we really to believe that your enemy is capable of occupying this nation and forcing us all to bow towards Mecca? You obviously have no knowlege of what it would take to project enough power to occupy just one of our states let alone all 50. The truth is that our own abortion clinics, street gangs, drug dealers, and sexual imorality kill, shoot poison, and infects more of us than any terrorist organization ever could dream of. If you want to cower behind the government your have misplaced your faith. Too many churches appear to have replaced their Crosses with Pentagons.

This article is so wrong, I don't know where to start...
Posted On: 02/08/08 02:56:20 PM Age 19, AZ
This article is written with "Limbaugh, O'Reilly, and Hannity" glasses on. The bills that the government is trying to pass to "protect" us are jokes. By insinuating, that because I respectfully disagree with the war on terror, (No one has ever given me a definition, after all, you can't have a war on a tactic), you are saying that I'm "un-American". Here's the reality. FISA is unconstitutional, the Patriot Act is unconstitutional, as well as HR 1955 and dozens and dozens of other bills that siphon away our liberty in favor of "security." I will say it again, because the author needs to listen to this wise saying. "People who give up their liberty for security, deserve neither."

Traitors? Terrorists?
Posted On: 02/08/08 12:04:16 PM Age 61, MO
This doesn't have anything to do with the Democrat or the Republican Parties. It has everything to do with the 4th Ammendment to the U.S. Constitution: "The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized." We start giving up our rights for more security, and we will soon have neither liberty nor security. George Cancilla

treasonous?!
Posted On: 02/08/08 09:23:17 AM Age 50, MN
I think it's treasonous to have our true enemy (Osama Bin Laden) on the run and pull off of that all important mission to go after the sinkhole that is Iraq because of Bush's pride and arrogance. (and I said it at the time - why are we stopping our pursuit of Bin Laden??!! //We had the support of the world and were on the high road, as America has been in the past - and Bush squandered all of that. Is that not traitorous?// He created the hotbed of terroism that it has become - he has used the National Guard to fight a war - something they were never intended to do - leaving us far more vulnerable here. Is that not traitorous?// Who are the true patriots here? You speak of the Democrats, but what about Ron Paul? He is a fine Christian man and a TRUE Republican - and he knows how wrong headed this occupation of Iraq is. //To disagree about Iraq is NOT being a traitor - you have used incendiary language that does not help the discussion and in my opinion is completely wrong headed. Christians have continued to look the other way on Bush's huge mistakes simply because he claims to be "one of us". Well that's not good enough and his policies and behavior have been disastorous for America.

Panicked Nonsense
Posted On: 02/08/08 08:01:11 AM Age 55, CA
This barely readable piece is a perfect example of why the right is going to lose in November. So tell me, what information in this age of terrors MAY we deny our curious, prying, government? Freedom is more precious than safety, Deacon Valentine. I am far more fearful of the enemy within, people who will allow the government and large corporations any power and prerogative they desire in exchange for hollow promises of safety, than I am of any foreign threat. So go ahead and toss the "traitor" epithet around all you want. That kind of stuff is what is going to send the great pool of American moderates and independents into the arms of the Democrats this November. I can't wait!

Who's playing chicken?
Posted On: 02/08/08 07:51:11 AM Age 37, MI
It seems that President Bush is playing 'chicken' with our national security, otherwise he would have protected our borders long ago! Instead he refuses to pardon our agents, whose job it is to protect our borders, from extreme jail sentences for 'wounding' a criminal crossing the border!

Of course disagreeing with the Heritage Foundation is treason!

Isn't that clearly stated in the Constitution? And of course refusing to immunize large corporations from lawsuits is treason! If corporations aren't free from the consequences of lawbreaking, terrorists will kill us all, won't they?

Traitors
Posted On: 02/08/08 07:20:44 AM Age 40, TX
While I agree with all 6 or your points about the Democrats. I do not agree with you about FISA. This is an unconstitutional use of power to spy on American citizens who might be talking to ists. The government has used 911 to expand it's power into our lives. It is time to get the government out of our lives, not give it more power. If we give it enough power it(the US government) will destroy us. We must fight the battle against growth of government. It is a bigger threat to our freedom than all the muslims in the world(and I agree that they are a threat). While the Democrats are traitors, so are most of the republicans.
