“I will punish the world for its evil…” (Is 13:11a)

During the past few weeks I have been overwhelmed by the great volume of reports about issues and matters of grave importance to you and your family; to your church and The Church in general; and, truly, to the Nation and the World.
Based on the above, I am coming to believe that Romans 1:24-32 is underway in some fashion and to some degree.How much I am not sure at this time.But, based on the information to which I am privy, I am absolutely sure it has begun.
So, for the foreseeable future I plan to alter my approach to our Alerts:
1.You will receive more short Alerts, about a greater variety of topics for prayer;
2.I will be offering you some Biblical thoughts about “God giving us over;” what it looks like when He does; and what you and I have an obligation to do about it once we have been warned.
As an example of #1 above, may I alert you that the liberal/socialist/pagan crowd is busy once again trying to defeat the United States and its armed forces.For the 58th time (yes, 58th, they never give up) the House of Representatives has initiated an effort to defund the troops, embarrass President Bush, and get us out of Iraq, thereby turning that vital nation over to Iran and Al-Qaeda and making it a very safe haven for Islamofascists.Does that make geopolitical sense?Or is it pandering to their far left base to make political points?
Below are excerpts from a Nov. 15tharticle about this:
“The Pentagon yesterday warned that money was already running out for combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, as congressional Democrats dismissed recent security gains and threatened to stall emergency war funds.”
“‘The Army is in a particularly precarious situation,’ Pentagon spokesman Geoff Morrell said. ‘Absent extraordinary measures, it would run out of money by mid-February — so quick congressional action is needed as quickly as possible.’”(editorial comment: Do the leftists even care?)
“Nevertheless, House Democrats passed a $50 billion war-spending bill last night with a 218-203 vote that President Bush promises to veto because it mandates a U.S. pullout from Iraq start immediately with a goal of a nearly complete withdrawal by December 2008.”
“The top Democrats — House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada — say they will withhold troop funds for at least the rest of the year if Mr. Bush does not accept the pullout timetable.”
“White House press secretary Dana Perino said Democrats used the pullout bill ‘for political posturing and to appease radical groups.’”
“The Democrats believe that these votes will somehow punish the president, but it actually punishes the troops.”(emphases mine)

If you read the verses in context there is no doubt that we are given over. What is the sign that Paul says is the defining characteristic of being given over? Homosexuality and the acceptance of same by society. We are already there and moving further and faster into God's judgment. The war is simply a symptom of this judgment. Once given over, men can no longer judge clearly. No doubt there are agendas behind the war, and a lot of the opposition to it, but there should be no doubt that part of it is an inability to think straight anymore. There are many political events being planned right now that I do not agree with, such as rewriting the US Constitution, L.O.S.T. and the North American Union highway. But I must say, as an Iraqi and Enduring Freedom veteran, I hope the US is pulled out of Iraq by December 2008. Iraq has much work to do to get their government underway, but they must take control of their country. The US cannot hold their hand forever, we have lost enough. Click here to reply to this post

Yes, God HAS given us over. Not only is our society slouching Towards Gomorra but even within the walls of our Churches, the vices of the world are just as rampant. And now, we are at war to impose this godless decadence upon the Islamic world! For the 100th time THERE IS NO GOSPEL OF BOMBS & BULLETS! WE ARE NOT COMMANDED TO SEND FOURTH ARMIES TO LIBERATE THE WORLD!
Especially inour curent state of being.
I have never supported the Democrats on anything before and will continue to oppose them on just about every other issue they stand for but in this case I say "Close the checkbook and shut it down!" Click here to reply to this post

This article quotes Romans 1:24-32 (God gives them over) as if it were not as true when Judas betrayed Jesus, as it is today. These verses are addressed to individuals, as are the verses that command to "come out of her." The article says "...the House of Representatives has initiated an effort to defund the troops, embarrass President Bush, and get us out of Iraq, thereby turning that vital nation over to Iran and Al-Qaeda and making it a very safe haven for Islamofascists." Actually, Congress has not done enough to stop the unlawful agression of the United States military in Iraq and Afghanistan. Numerous polls of U.S. citizens suggest that a majority of between 55 and 70 percent want the U.S. military out of Iraq. And rightly so, since the U.S. military presence there is not only unlawful, but immoral as well. The word "Islamofascist" is merely a propoganda word used by those who are pandering to corporate fascism, and those people are very prominent in the U.S. government today. The US Senate, House, Presidency and Judicial Branches,advised by their corporate handlers,have used the uniformed US military to serve their own individual interests, not those embodied in the Constitution of the United States or the Declaration of Independence. The premeditated policies of the current US government are literally killing the American people and creating foreign enemies that future American youngsters will be asked to kill.
