Dr. Bob Jones III--Here's the Truth on Mitt Romney
Posted: 10/17/2007
The Greenville News is reporting that Dr. Bob Jones III has endorsed Mitt Romney for the Republican Presidential nomination. On the Crosstalk Show we have repeatedly interviewed Christians in the state of Massachusetts about the reality of former Governor Romney on issues of importance to the family. Either Dr. Bob Jones failed to do his homework or doesn't consider the testimony of these valiant Christian activists to be of any importance. Here's an overview of the Mitt Romney deception on family values. This is from the MassResistance.org website.
"As former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney runs for President of the United States, his powerful (and well-funded) campaign machine uses revised history and misleading statements to portray him as a solid social and fiscal conservative with a track record of successes as governor. Much of this is exacerbated by fawning (and lazy) conservative media.
However, the truth is different. We present the following documentation of Romney's actual record in Massachusetts. We think that the facts will speak for themselves.
The Mitt Romney Deception Report - Our 28-page comprehensive report released last November describing how Gov. Romney ran for office and governed as a liberal, despite his claims to the contrary. This covers a wide range or topics and is an essential read.
How Mitt Romney brought "gay marriage" to Massachusetts - Complete report with comprehensive legal analysis. The Supreme Judicial Court made a ruling and ordered the Legislature to act. The Legislature did nothing, so Romney stepped in and ordered same-sex "marriages" to begin -- essentially violating his oath of office.
While he was Governor, Romney donated $10,000 to radical homosexual "health" group. - A very destructive group, publisher of notorious "Little Black Book - Queer in the 21st Century." Did Mitt Romney donate $10,000 to an organization without knowing what it does? This was four times the amount he gave to an organization promoting abstinence among teen girls, "Best Friends Foundation," in 2003.
Dr. Bob Jones III is living in the fear of Hillary Clinton more than the light of truth on who Romney really is. The outward appearance of Romney and the Mormon church always looks very good. But as fundamentalism should have long ago learned, a clean outside appearance can be highly deceptive. Ultimately, in my view, whoever takes the Republican nomination will be irrelevant. The top-tier Republicans have long ago sold out to the same corruption and interests that have destroyed the Democrats. "Republican" Governor Arnold Shwarzenegger just signed a homosexual indoctrination bill that could not have been more far reaching and destructive, and it will affect every 5-year-old in the state of California. Who needs Romney-style Republicans when this is their fruit? Judgment begins in the house of God and until the church gets its own house in order, who takes the White House will have more to do with God's discipline than anything else.
Someone in the pro-life movement commented that Hillary in the White House would be the best thing that ever happened to the church. When the enemy is in full frontal attack mode, the church of Jesus Christ will be less likely to doze its way through another four years of death on the installment plan under a compromised Republican. There's nothing like opposition to strengthen those who love and serve Jesus Christ. I love America, but I tremble for her. No nation that has a billion dollar porn industry flowing into homes every hour, 50 million dead children who have been murdered on the altar of convenience, atheism and evolution taught in the schools as official dogma, and homosexuals openly engaging in sodomy in our streets, (one such festival just took place two weeks ago in San Fransisco, the police did nothing)-- no such nation can expect the blessing of God, period. As believers we don't need to make desperate compromises to somehow try to avert the worst of God's judgment. His people can work for what is right and then rest under the shadow of His wings. I pray that whatever happens, God's will will be done in the earth. What God does is always right. Of that we can be confident.

When I first saw that, I was shocked, disappointed and disgusted. His "It's all about beating Hillary" comment sounds more like what I'd have expected to hear from Sean Hannity, not a luminary in the Christian Fundamentalist/Independent Baptist movement.
But this comment "What is the alternative, Hillary's lack of religion or an erroneous religion". As Christians, we should not even be espousing voting for a cult member...period! There are plenty of true Christians in this Presidential campaign (Tancredo, Paul, Huckabee, etc.;) who are not only true Christians but true conservatives. But voting for the "lesser of two evils" is NEVER an option for the Church. Click here to reply to this post

It is a very sad thing when a man of God chooses to compromise and allow satan to hinder his judgement and endorse an ungodly man because he considered this man to be the lesser of two evils. God's Holy Word shows us many times that the majority does not win unless He(God) allows it. I am so greatful to serve a Lord and Saviour who still is in control. As a born again believer I will continue to pray for God's guidance on whom He would want to be our next President of the United States. We need to be in prayer for this most blessed nation we have been given the opportunity to be born and raised in. Thank you for all who are willing to stand on the truth and sharing this article. All moral and ethics aside. Dr. Bob, do we really want to trust nat'l security and other difficult, rationally-thought-out issues to a man who believes in majic underwear? I think not. Click here to reply to this post

Here's the facts - Christians have FAR more in common with Bill Clinton than Mitt Romney - so is everything about politics and political power or does theology matter as we always say it does.// Romney believes Jesus and Satan are brothers, literally, and that every mormon male will be the "jesus" of their own planet someday. Those are facts.// If you can support that just because he aligns with you on some conservative issues I think we're off base. Click here to reply to this post

Thanks for the reminder, Ingrid. Sometimes I get so caught up in supporting just the right candidates at election time, that I forget that God is in control. I agree that Christians need to be much more concerned about getting their own house in order, before they can effectively pick any candidates for governmental offices. Each new day my heart breaks at the deception swirling around us. At times I can hardly catch my breath. I'm shocked, dismayed, then angered and weeping in agonizing prayer. Ingrid you shout out the TRUTH......but NO ONE IS LISTENING. I called up a Christian talk station here in St. Louis and said when a school known for it's 'Bible Thumping" stands with Mitt Romney cult member, where do we go from here? It's rank apostacy in America!!! Keep looking up...Jesus is returning soon! Click here to reply to this post
