The real hate speech

The real hate speech

By Janet Folger

Just who are the haters? Here are some of the blog postings from homosexual activists following the death of one of the godliest men I have ever met, Dr. Jerry Falwell:

  • "What an absolutely putrid little excrescence of vomit he was."

  • "R.I.P., and after watching Falwell I know know (sic) why the Romans threw the Christians to the lions."

  • "Oh, thank non-god. One down, 28 percent to go."

  • "I'd pee right on his corpse if I could."

  • "Dance first, then pi-- …"

  • "I'm saving the real party for Jesse Helms's exit. I'll be dancing that day."

No surprise – this is exactly how homosexual activists treated Rev. Falwell when he was alive. Homosexuals more than hated Jerry Falwell, whom they attacked, maligned, ridiculed and threatened. He didn't make it widely known, but homosexual activists even attempted to kill him.

And through it all, he met hate with love.

As Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth pointed out on my radio program, when homosexuals protested Dr. Falwell, they were surprised to look up and find the reverend hugging his harassers. He overcame hate with love … and truth. Truth was the part they didn't like. As 75-year-old grandmother Arlene Elshinnawy's sign read before they hauled her off to jail for displaying it: "The Truth is Hate to those who Hate the Truth."

It reminds me about what happened after the murder of Mary Stachowicz. Ever hear of her? Didn't think so. Mary Stachowicz, a 51-year-old wife and mother of four, was described by friends as soft-spoken, "concerned about the good of her parish, always seeking things for the poor as well as spiritual welfare for people." Mary Stachowicz also believed what the Bible and the Catholic Church taught about homosexuality. She verbalized her belief, and for that crime, she was murdered.

Mary was murdered by 19-year-old homosexual Nicholas Gutierrez in Chicago for the crime of disagreeing with his lifestyle. According to police reports, Stachowicz asked Gutierrez, who lived in an apartment above her, "Why do you [have sex with] boys instead of girls?" That was when he "punched, kicked, stabbed and strangled" her before stuffing her body into a crawl space under the floor of his apartment, where it remained for two days until he confessed to police.

Chicago media reported these events, choosing headlines devoid of words like "gay" or "homosexual." While I and pro-family leaders repeatedly went on national television to repudiate the death of Matthew Shepard, there was no such condemnation of Stachowicz's horrific murder from the homosexual community.

Perhaps more telling was what they did say:

  • "I really don't feel sorry for her. She paid a very steep price for being an arrogant religious fascist. Too bad for her."

"Iris," in a posting on the ACLU Online Forum

  • "Quite frankly, if anyone in this case was being 'persecuted' it was Mr. Gutierrez. ... Maybe this will give pause to other people who similarly try to 'help' homosexuals."

"Silence Dogood," on ACLU Online Forum

  • "Maybe [Stachowicz's murder] will strike fear in the hearts of a few fundamentalists. ... Where do I send a check for his (Gutierrez's) defense fund?"

James Wagner's boyfriend, Barry's posted response

  • "The b---h had it coming to her. I'm glad he killed her. ... I'm glad he killed her. The b---h deserved to die."

    San Francisco man on Yahoo

Instead of condemning this horrific murder, homosexuals danced on her grave, also.

Those kind of hateful statements are perfectly acceptable, free from any repercussions of any kind. They get their own forum at the ACLU. However, if two 16-year-old Crystal Lake girls say an unkind word about homosexuals and pass out a few flyers to their classmates, they are in "violation of an Illinois state hate crime statute." They face felony charges and are locked up in juvenile detention while bail is denied.

Felony for a flyer or a forum for defilement? It's not equal rights these people are after; it's tyranny.

Haven't you heard? Words of disagreement with the homosexual agenda are now illegal. Just ask more than 100 kids who were suspended for wearing T-shirts that expressed their biblical views on the topic. Shirts with Bible verses and such sayings as "Don't touch God's rainbow" threw San Juan High School students in California out of school.

S. 1105, the so-called "hate crimes" bill, is the most dangerous bill in America. It will revoke what used to be called the freedom of speech. I don't agree with all the speech I hear. You may not agree with mine. But if we don't stop this bill together, we will all lose the right to disagree, to quote the Bible and to speak the truth. Speak up before you are locked up.

Go to StopHateCrimesNow.com and send your senators a "Don't Make Me A Criminal Packet" – complete with handcuffs, mug shots and a personal letter. With the click of a mouse, send the message that you won't be silenced.

The alternative is 16-year-old girls imprisoned and ministers' graves desecrated. It's Catholic mothers murdered, and the thought police in schools. What do you want the future to look like?

I commend you for speaking out. And most of what you say I think is good. But you say "For no law will stop me from speaking nor writing the true word of G-d." I would like to say I used to feel that way and Peter felt that way. Peter thought he would die for Jesus, but found that when Jesus did not help him to speak up that he even denied that he knew Jesus. I think we are all that way and are cowards in the flesh, I know I am. I pray whenever I am given the opportunity to speak up for Christ that Jesus gives me the courage by His grace and mercy. I pray He gives you grace and mercy also. your brother Lou

Yes Janet, it just goes to show the fallen world in which we live. But oddly, most Christians have blinders, walking about as if their world will have peace, harmony, blessings, $$$, and an individually assigned angel bodyguard. After all most pastors preach "Love" as a feeling instead of a commitment, obedience, to Truth. The apathy and alter reality in which most Christians live keeps them from the voting booth, speaking their convictions, being bold, stepping in the gap, and living a sacrificial life. And why should they, their gospel is all about themselves- Christ died for themselves so that they can seperate from the world instead of being salt and light in the world. After all Christ was a pacifist right? He never upset anyone or spoke his mind, or stood for truth, right? The true gospel however, is that Christians are to be soldiers, to die to self and enlist fulltime, putting on the full armor of God to battle the forces of darkness. Get ready for the hate mail Janet, here it comes! I wrote an article about Christian LOVE being submissive obedience, if interested- email me at jchristco@aol.com. Thanks, John

No disagreement with the article. The disturbing thing about this 'hate' crime business is that assume something that is not obvious. To say someone is hating is to assume a person's inner thoughts and motivations without actually knowing these things. One can be reminded of a parent who is told, by a wayward child, "you hate me" when punishment is given. No, it is not hate when a child is brought back into line... it is an act of love which tells the child "I love you much that I can not allow you to walk out into the street or play with matches,..." It is interesting that we do this sort of thing in many ways. Consider speed limit signs... they're not posted as an issue of hate... suggesting a person is hated because the public feels it best that drivers keep their speed down. It is done as a matter of love. The idea of a 'hate' crime measure rests on an error... the other side of having Freedom of Speech is to know that people may say things with which I don't agree. It is part of the package. Thanks.

A good article, and I agree the hate is coming from the other direction, but is that surprising? Remember what our Lord Yeshua told his disciples: 18 "If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. 19If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. (John 15: 18-19). To face such hatred from those we only wish to help, can be one of the hardest traits of being Christian, these days. But with a government that desperately seeks to purge Judeo-Christian language of any kind from our society, and replace it with the state religion of Human Secularism, it really shouldn't come as a shock. Many of us, who have studied the Bible at length, especially Eschatology, believe we have entered the, "End Times" (how ever long it last), and ever increasing intolerance to out right persecution of the Church and Judaism is one of the signs that we have entered the era referred to in the Bible as the "End Times". But we are not to despair, for if in fact we are in the End Times, it is the necessary birthing pains that heralds the return of our Lord Yeshua and His Millennial Kingdom. It is during these trials that our faith will be tested... so do we loose faith and attack the world back, or do we pray for the salvation and revelation of the truth for those who persecute us? I am not saying that we shouldn't attempt to make our voices heard by our legislatures and judges, as well as be very selective for whom we vote for when elections come about, but rather, don't be surprised and let not your faith waiver if our cries and objection to the double-standard of the Hate Crime legislation goes unacknowledged, as it is to be expected. Pity and pray those who hate and reject us, for only the Father can call them, and only the Christ can offer them salvation, but if they don't repent of their sins, they have all of eternity in a lake of fire to consider their folly. Just my 2cents worth, as I see and understand the Truth of the Scriptures. Mark

Janet: I saw the same hatespeech on my broadband provider's forum the day Dr. Falwell died. This is what I posted: I have been watching these posts now since yesterday after it was learned that Dr. Falwell died. I must admit 30 years ago, I hated Jerry Falwell. I didn’t like his Moral Majority and everything he preached and stood for. Had he died then, I would be feeling and stating things similar to many of the ugly, hate-filled posts listed here. But during the intervening years, I saw a man who changed. Perhaps you are unaware of his reaching out and building bridges to groups, who in the past he castigated and shunned. If you study the arc of this man’s life, you will see adversity came to him. God deals with us differently to humble us. You will also see how his faith brought him closer to God, and how this changed him. I heard how his message mellowed. Gone was the certainty of hell for only homosexuals, and he began to include ALL sinners who do sexual sins, gay and straight. More and more he began to embody the idea of “loving the sinner and not the sin.” As a Christian, did he perfectly embody Christ’s love for humanity? No, none of us have. Yet I have observed that it’s the Christians among these posters here who have extended compassion, while others have extended words of hate and pure evil. I have no doubt most who have posted their hateful comments here will not believe my observation about Jerry Falwell. I had such “certainty” once, and learned I was wrong. The fact remains that we all die someday and will then face a just God and must account for our choices. None among us is good – not one. Our very nature is sinful. That is why you need to accept Jesus as your Savior. Without repentance for your sins and belief in Jesus as your Savior, you will face a hellish eternity. Instead of mocking this man and by extension, all Christianity - why are you not using your individual intellects to explore it, understand it and accept what the Bible says is true: we all live forever. Each of us must make the decision as to WHERE we will live that forever. I urge each of you to re-examine Christianity and accept Jesus, because TODAY could be YOUR last day, just like yesterday was Dr. Falwell’s.

I could not have said it better myself, in fact not as well as Janet did in her article. The hate speech spewing forth from the mouths of homosexuals defies description. They may well qualify as the most hateful people on the planet followed by Islamofascists. Their hatred is actually so putrid, ludicrous and adolescent at times as to be laughable if that's actually possible. It confirms they suffer from mental derangement as if that is revelatory given their obvious upside down and backwards tilt in human sexual relationships. I will never comprehend how a supposed learned, well educated person elected to our legislative and/or appointed to our judicial branch of government can actually with a straight face stand up and/or bang a gavel to in effect exalt and defend a lifestyle that is obviously even to the most casual observer ultimately destructive and counter productive! But for their ability to walk and talk and otherwise carry on with reasonable effectiveness in society, homosexuals would be candidates for confinement in an asylum. Truth is, the homosexual lifestyle will bring a sad end to the lives of most male homosexuals before they reach the age of 35. Aids and death are the legacy of the male homosexual lifestyle! The aberrant lifestyle of the male homosexual is a drain on our national treasury with Bush proposing another $30 billion dollars to fight Aids in Africa where the disease is believed to have had its genesis. At days end homosexuals are to be pitied, prayed for and loved while their lifestyle is to be condemned just as God condemns it for the abomination that it is. May God free them from their sinful bondage.

The reason homosexual are so emboldened it’s because the Clergy, like Judas Iscariot once again betrayed Jesus Christ for thirty pieces of silver by incorporating with the State in order to gain Tax Exempt Status through the IRS 501c3 Tax Code. Forty-three years ago the State violated the First Amendment clause stating, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion” and established the kingdom of man through then Senator Lyndon Baines Johnson. Johnson and company found a sneaky way to silence the Church, and eliminate the significant influence it had in shaping moral public policy by slipping in an amendment in Congress that prohibits churches under the IRS 501c3 Tax Exempt Code to endorse candidates or try to affect legislation. The Clergy has dethroned, bound and gagged the Son of God and they are trampling him underfoot, while the emerging Church keeps shouting, "Crucify him! Crucify him!" and that is exactly what they have being doing, they are all crucifying the sovereign Lord over and over again, and the Clergy are eating it up by enjoying their tax-exempt status for their own personal gains.

  1. Perhaps God allowed that

First, I will say that Lyndon Johnson was a crook who, unlike Richard Nixon, never got caught. In some ways, Johnson reminds me of Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon. However, Lyndon Johnson's opponents remind me of the corrupt kings of Judah, such as Menasseh, Jehoiachim, and Zedekiah, who dishonored God, worshiped idols, and oppressed the poor. Many of Johnson's opponents, including pastors, were racist bigots. Johnson's Democrat opponents, such as Coke Stevenson, George Wallace, Orval Faubus, and Lester Maddox, wanted the government to enforce segregation and discrimination against black people. Many Republicans, such as Barry Goldwater, wanted the government to just stand by and let a white oligarchy discriminate against black people. Just as God used Nebuchadnezzar to punish His chosen people centuries ago, God used Lyndon Johnson to punish my fellow Christians who committed the sin of racist bigotry.

I wittness on chat lines daily. I have read these same things about Pastor Falwell from the atheists, not just Gays. YES truth is seen as hate, DOES this really surprize us tho. ANYTIME, you tell anyone ( not just gays) they are wrong, you better be ready to be hated. I must tell Mrs.Folger, although it was terriable what does DONE to that Roman Catholic lady, please do not say things like SHE believed what the bible said. THAT is a insult. THERE are many who KNOW that being gay isnt correct, and they have NEVER picked up the bible. Please dont say this Roman Catholic Lady, believed what the bible and her church said about homosexuals ok. THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CLERGY is full of them. Im in no way agaisnt that Roman Catholic lady, Im not against gays either. IM against the LIES of the devil in both of their cases. THEY are both in bondage to lies. NEITHER one is saved and I dont want anyone to write article that says a Roman Catholic believed what the bible says. If she did she would NOT be in that church. NOW I will called a HATER, but again TRUTH is seen as hate. I hate no one.

Real hate is a learned trait and as long as man embraces anger and justifies his rage instead of following the second of the two love your fellow man as yourslef. we then are doomed too the hate crime bill and the loss of freedom of speech it speaks of. But is it not but one more indicator of the influnces of this age, if the time comes and it will that a followers faith is tested and judged on his words those who are weakest will fall away; while those with strenght will rise and come foward. For no law will stop me from speaking nor writing the true word of G-d. no man no mans law shall take that away. It is said each will be tried in the fire, this from Paul. So we should look to this as a future test not as a punishment nor a hinderane but in all reality as a true blessing for all. If ones resolve to have and hold ones faith is true then the following will apply: for if you deny me before men I shall deny you before the father. What can the final cost be to one with true fath? We should as it is writen fear he who can destroy both body and soul... J.Brown/Lord

Look at another story that God tells us about this sin in Judges 19 & 20. The town had not obeyed God's command to stone people for this sin and the whole town ended up in the sin; for that is the nature of the sin. They will force others to participate to try to take away their shame. One stranger comes into town and they try to force their selves on him. The man who was a stranger sent out his concubine instead and the homosexual men were so angry that they raped and killed the concubine. This sin of homosexuality causes it,s offenders to become very hostile because of their shame. How could any human being do such a thing as oral anal sex and not have such shame that they can not bear it. Look what happened after the event; the man who had his concubine killed went to the other tribes for justice and they came to the tribe of Benjamin and demanded the offenders to be handed over for justice. Homosexuality had spread so fast to the rest of the tribe and they were so vocal and hostile that they were able to cause the whole tribe of Benjamin not to hand them over for justice and the whole tribe was destroyed. This is the price for defending homosexuality. If this nation continues to defend homosexuality then the whole nation will be destroyed. If you want to defend the rights of homosexuals then you are putting your children in harms way. Look at the catholic priest scandal; one should be able to discern that homosexuality leads to the spread of homosexuality and further it leads to the sexual abuse of children. Anyone who defends homosexuality is defending the sexual abuse of children and that is why our TV's are filled with the fact that so many cases of sexual child abuse is happening. Being for homosexuality is a grave sin and that person is responsible for supporting the sexual abuse of children. If this sin is not stopped our nation will be destroyed. We are called to love the sinner but to HATE the sin.
