Where are the Shepherds?

Where are the Shepherds?

I am heartsick this morning.  I don’t know what it will take for Christians to wake-up.  In a society that bends over backwards to make sure that our children have everything they need, why is it that we have so neglected the souls of our children?

Everything we own will someday belong to another.  The only thing that has any significant value is the soul of another human being.

What is the soul?  We throw that term around a lot but how many of us really understand what the soul is?  The soul is made up of three parts.

·        The mind---our ability to think.

·        Our emotions---the ability to “feel” or empathize

·        Our will---the ability to choose.

According to Christian teachings it is the part of a human being that is immortal, the part that will never die.  Leaving this earthly body is not the end of life.  It is merely a transition from one realm to another.  What is that realm called?  We Christians are taught that there is a heaven and a hell.  When we leave this body we will spend eternity in one of those two places.

Upon death, our soul leaves our body.  That is why when speaking of death we use terms like passed on, left this world, earthly departure, or went to be with the Lord.  Most Americans believe that there is life after death, that the soul -- the ability to think, to choose, and to emote -- lives on.

I know he is up there looking down on us.”   You hear that a lot after a loved one dies, an expression of the belief that the soul never really dies.  How do we know who is really “up there”?

For centuries pastors have been known as “shepherds of the soul.”  They have been given the awesome responsibility to guide the souls of their flock unto the safety of heaven.  That is what pastors do; protect their sheep against ravenous wolves, a spiritual guide if you will, to direct their flock to heaven.

Sadly, many have lost their purpose.  Today much of what we hear from the pulpits of America is nothing more than “Humanism Lite,” a recipe on how to make this life better, rather than a guide to eternal life.  You know the refrain, “God wants to make you healthy, wealthy, and happy…..”

Most shepherds have lost sight of eternity.

The battle that rages before us is not Republican against Democrat, pro-life/pro death, liberal/conservative, pro-homosexual/anti-homosexual, pro-war/anti-war, creation/evolution, or Second Amendment/gun control.

The battle is heaven or hell and the souls of our children.

We are in a battle.  Why won’t we act like it?  I am reminded of what former Ohio State football coach Woody Hayes once said.  I’ve never seen a football player make a tackle with a smile on his face.”  The war for souls is raging and we want to smile our way through the battle.

Look at this video on the indoctrination of our children into homosexuality.  It is 10 minutes long and it is disturbing.  If that still isn’t enough, take 7 minutes and watch this one.  The battle is not over homosexuality.  It is over souls.  Where are the shepherds, those who will lay down their life for the children?  Remember, the soul is the mind, the will, and the emotions.  Look in the eyes of these precious children and see how the souls are being destroyed?

Listen, folks.  God calls homosexuality an abomination.  If you have a problem with it, take it up with God.  I am merely pointing out His position.  How can we call ourselves Christian if we don’t agree with our Lord?

Souls are at risk…for eternity.   It is time to stop smiling and start defending.

The government schools are not merely giving a bad education; they are leading souls to hell.  Sounds radical, doesn’t it?  But it is the Truth.

Christians, we are losing our kids.  Because of the indoctrination in our schools, our Christian kids no longer think like Christians.  They are simply little Humanists who know Jesus.  Why do you call me Lord but don't do what I tell you?” Luke 6:46.

“But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.”  Matthew 18:6

It is not about homosexuality, it is about souls.  It is not about this world, it is about the next one.

Look at this video.  It was produced by the Inglewood School District in conjunction with the Inglewood police in 1959.  It shows what American used to believe about homosexuality.  Although it seems a bit archaic, it speaks of a different time, a time when our schools cared about souls, about right and wrong, good and evil, God and the Devil.  These were the values we taught to our kids, because the shepherds demanded it.

Today our children are indoctrinated in our government schools.  They are taught to accept what God tells them to abhor.  Few speak out; few are concerned for the souls of the children.

The massacre at Virginia Tech brought it home to me.  Many spoke of the “tragedy” of the slaughter.  It is a tragedy, but not in the way many of us view it.  Without sounding calloused, the thing that should break our heart is not that so many died, but that so many died apart from Jesus.   Most had been indoctrinated into tolerance, diversity, multi-culturalism, and environmentalism.  Today they are no longer part of this world.  Pardon the pun, but what they learned here on earth, as my grandpa used to say, “Ain’t worth a hoot in hell.”

Many are in hell and you can bet they aren’t hootin’!  I’m sorry if it seems harsh.  That is what the Bible teaches.  That is what I believe. Forever is a long time.

"And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." Matthew 10:28.

We are failing our children and our Lord.

“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment. Hebrews 9:27.

It is not about your best life now; it is about your best life later.  Souls are at risk.  Our schools have become the very Synagogues of Satan, focusing on the flesh and ignoring the soul.

Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”  Phil 2:9-11.

Bow your knee now, or bow your knee later.  We need to tell our children that.

Parents are feeding their children to the lions.  Why won’t the shepherds tell their flock to run from the government schools?

Where are the shepherds?

Why do you need our age on this site? Just curious! Anyway, I made friends with a homosexual at work a few years ago. I definitely believe it is an abomination, because God says it is. I also believe that we should not ask if they are homosexual, if it's really obvious they are, especially. But make friends with them, if circumstanes allow. I didn't ever ask my 'friend' if he was homosexual, I knew he was. I didn't hide that I was a Christian. My error "was" that I didn't try hard enough to learn, or believe God could use me and his gospel to bring him to Christ. God's word does draw through the Holy Spirit, but the word has to get out there. My error "was" that the word didn't get out there like it should have. I would get sucked into the conversation of the day. I'm not good at small talk and witnessing at the same time. It seems to me if you start off one way, it's hard to switch in the middle of the conversation to spiritual matters. Anyway, the reason I said "was" thoughout this response, is because my 'friend' called me at work the other day and wants to have lunch with me. I do not want to mess this one up. I want to get the word of God out there. You see, my 'friend' is dying of aids. He has had it for 27 years. None of us at work knew this until he decided to make it public in the newspapers, with an article written by a reporter. But now that it's out there, I may have a better chance of speaking openly about Christ without him shutting me down. He has to know by now that his being homosexual does not mean he is any different than any other sinner that needs Christ. I did not ever mention his sexual proclivity to him. Jesus didn't say to the sinners he came in contact with, "you are an abomination to God, and because of that specific sin, you will go to heaven." Any sinner has the opportunity to accept Christ as Lord of his life. There is no specific sin that will keep them out of heaven, but denying Jesus Christ. I thank God that he has given me another opportunity to witness to this lost soul. I pray I don't mess up again. The time is short.

Most shepherds have lost sight of eternity? I don't believe the men we call "Pastors" are actually the Biblical shepherds of the N.T. I believe these men are more like the man spoken of in 3rd John, a man by the name of Diotrephes. You see, Diotrephes desired to have preeminence among the bretheren, in other words the big cheese. He also rejected the teachings of the Apostles. In Matthew 23 we are told to call no man Rabbi (teacher), Father or LEADER!!!! Today's system of Church heirarchy is straight from Rome and we have been suffering the consequences ever since. Most Church people today would not know the leading of the Holy Spirit if clobbered over the head.

The war:one small battle at a time. Since it is already won, to separate the sheep from the goats, will necessitate extreme hardship. Bucking the entrenched system, as we must, one by one, will cause extreme suffering. Near ruin, financially, must be embraced in order to be 'in the world' but not of it. The implications are that we will lose our comforts; be marginalised and persecuted; and be outcasts mostly. It is not a case of us separating ourselves from the world and living cloistered lives as the opologists critique to justify their own adulteries. Rather, it will be a case of being excluded (perhaps forcibly in some cases) from society at large. It may mean ruin in many ways, but if your god is THE GOD, then you must be prepared for this. God is not mocked, we are told. We must sow to the future of our children in the Lord Jesus. He scorned the shame that was thrust upon Him. We must embrace this ourselves and not be deluded by 'rapturous rescue baloney'. One by one. One battle at a time. We will win. We will run the race if we are willing to endure. And having done all, TO STAND... PGW

"the thing that should break our heart is not that so many died, but that so many DIED APART FROM JESUS" Do you know this for a fact? Do you actually know anything about the victims? I really dislike how many talking heads are coopting Virginia Tech's tragedy to push their own agendas.

The modern day position of a sole pastor is a fraud that places all the responsibility and attention on one man. Instead of believing God, that he has placed gifted people in our midst, the institutions go looking outside for a "professional" or a heirling and wonder why he is so spineless. Why not look around the group of believers for a strong gifted believer and recognize the gifts from among yourselves. The modern church has a man at the head and Christ is told to wait outside. Most churches wouldn't accept a truley spirit filled teacher because he is bound by no denominations nor a respector of persons.

Coach, Few parents wish to risk the convenience of the government school and their opportunity for 2 paychecks. The professional preachers, do not wish to risk the tithe money (their percentage)represented in those 2 paychecks to coach parents into Biblical thinking and child care. As a consequence, their is little support for homeschoolers in these kinds of fellowships, since their efforts divert funding from the professional ministries. Professional preachers will support Christian Education, but also benefit from "Pastoral Discounts" for their children. (I have no problem with anyone with a need receiving assistance: this is how it should be. There are some Pastors who partake of these discounts as a means to perpetrate a lavish lifestyle. They are viewed as a "perk" of the job, while those in true need are passed by) Repentence must come from leadership, for their bondage to their lifestyle, and the many parents whose desire for material blessing take priority over their ministry of the Word to their own children.
