I Can See Waldo! Can You?
Even adults will confess that they enjoy looking for Waldo in the “Find Waldo” puzzles. I know I do. Of course, we adults have to have a good reason for looking at one of the kid’s magazines that have those puzzles. We have to have an alibi like being stuck in the doctor’s waiting room.
Looking for Waldo can be a little frustrating but he can usually be found with a little patience. There is another Waldo-like person we should be looking for but few of us are. I refer to the new communist. Yes, there is a new communist man and woman infiltrating America. This is not a new manifestation. This has been going on since the 60s but the movement is reaching critical mass. Their worldview is gaining popularity without the masses recognizing it for what it is and what it will mean. These new commies are not foreign invaders but rather are homegrown.
These communists, or Marxists, if you prefer, are peppered throughout our society. They are teaching our kids in the schools at all grade levels. They make up a significant portion of the population of many of the tenured professors at Yale, Harvard, Princeton, UCLA, and other prestigious universities. Unlike Waldo, they are easy to find.
The Marxists worldview dominates much of our press today. Just read the editorials of the New York Times, Washington Post, or the Atlanta Journal if you have any doubts. These organs major in class warfare, envy, and all the other tactics that breed discontent in a society.
In order to succeed in instilling revolution in a people Marxists must destroy the popular culture and the fiber of the people of that country. In this, the press is doing a great job. I raise the question I’ve raised before. What are the American people willing to fight and die for? I certainly do not know. We abandoned Viet Nam and lost. It looks like the same is in store for Iraq.
What is even more disturbing is that more and more elected officials are Marxist in their worldview even if they are not fully self-conscious of it. I know that some years ago a professed communist was elected mayor of Santa Cruz, California. He may still be there. I don’t know. I am going to avoid name calling at this point, but be assured there is no lack of Marxists in the U.S. Congress as well as on the local level.
There have even been commies in the White House. Gary Aldrich, a former FBI assigned to the White House shares this in his book, Unlimited Access:
Just before the inauguration in January 1993, Tony and Mel went to the Capitol to meet with personal representatives of President-elect Clinton to ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities after the Oath of Office was administered. Dressed in their usual impeccable suits, Tony and Mel waited and waited. They began to get a little nervous, because three rough-looking characters had arrived and were hanging around, eyeballing them. Were they about to be mugged? The trio looked like bikers, with earrings and ponytails, jeans that were torn or dirty, and faded sweatshirts or Levi jackets. Tony thought they might be there to erect bleachers or do some other construction. He walked over to them.
“Guy,” Tony began, “we’re supposed to meet a few folks from the Clinton administration. Have you run into any guys that might be the Clinton Advance Team?”
On of them gave Tony a dirty look. “We’re the Clinton Advance Team.” (Later, another friend of mine remarked how the Secret Service was captured by a Clinton Advance Team Member wearing a red Lenin lapel pin.”
When the Soviet Union dissolved in the early 90s the communist leaders didn’t abandon communism. They moved into other leftist organizations and causes. This is basically where many American communists reside today. Gorbechev became an environmentalist, for example. He’s still a communist.
So how do we find these dangerous Waldos? There is only one way unless they openly confess their allegiance. We have to watch them, listen to their rhetoric, and then see what they actually do. One tactic of communists is to project upon their enemies their own evils. It is a very effective red herring technique.
Many American liberals are really Marxists. Let’s examine some of their projection efforts. Do you remember when Bill Clinton came into office and the code word the liberals were using at that time was “selfish”? They repeated their mantra over and over. Americans are selfish, they proclaimed. Americans should want to contribute more taxes, give more to the poor, and spend more to protect the environment, they said.
I found it quite revealing that in 2004, Al Gore was chanting this mantra and it was later revealed that he had given only $400 to charity that year. Recently, a new study came out confirming the fact that conservatives are more liberal in their giving than liberals. So who is selfish? It’s easy to be generous with someone else’s money. Here is an article that you can read to further confirm this point: http://www.beliefnet.com/story/204/story_20419_1.html
In his book, Do As I Say (Not As I Do), Peter Schweizer gives example after example of liberals who are environmentalist, are for racial equality, plead for cause the poor and homeless, and who are anti-corporation proving to be hypocrites when it comes to their own lives. They project their evil on to society at large.
For example, Schweizer clearly exposes Michael Moore’s hypocrisy when it comes to racial equality. Moore said he wanted to hire minorities… “who come from the working class, who do not have a college education and through these people we will reach a wider audience than the converted.” Out of the 134 producers, editors, cinematographers, composers, and production coordinators hired for Moore’s various movie and television projects, only three were black.
Another tactic of communists when they begin influencing a culture is to minimize and destroy the military as much as possible. Again, there are many articles detailing what the Clinton years did to the military. Here is just one: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/fr/612082/posts
My wife pointed out a powerfully revealing paragraph to me from Herman Wouk’s War and Remembrance that further depicts this tactic concerning the military. We discover that once Marxists are successful in depleting the people’s will to fight, as they apparently have in America, the deadly results will surely come in short order. Wouk writes:
When an empire dies, it dies like a cloudy day, without a visible moment of sunset. The demise is not announced on the radio, nor does one read of it in the morning paper. The British Empire had fatally depleted itself in the great if laggard repulse of Hitler, and the British people had long since willed the end of the Empire, by electing pacifist leaders to gut the military budgets. Still when the end was upon them, it was hard to face. Illusion is an anodyne, bred by the gap between wish and reality. Such an illusion was Fortress Singapore.
Have we already willed the end of our nation? Maybe.
